Life in the UK test does not fulfil the requirement of English Language. English test is required or could be exempted if one has approved degree taught in English.

If you follow FLR(M) Section 8 step by step you will find how English language requirement could be met and you will not find LIUK test there.

Easiest test is Trinity college you may already know
http://www.trinitycollege.co.uk/site/?id=2094

If you want to know more details then please refer to FLR(M) guide page 6 and follow this link.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

English language requirement is must if some one is applying on FLR(M).
Please refer to FLR(M) application form page 29 SECTION 8 - ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT.

I followed the FLR(M) requirement and my wife's visa got approved and my friend followed Solicitor's advise not to submit English test and his wife's visa was rejected on the same ground.

Current SET(M) does not have requirement of English language test. It requires Life in the UK test or if someone's English is not good enough to pass the LIUK test then ESOL with citizenship qualification from approved body. Refer to page 14 of SET(M) form. SECTION 5 - KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGE AND LIFE IN THE UK

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Dear smshad
If a dependent passed life in uk test will qualify for the English language requirements or she has to do other exams to prove her English language. Please advice
Thank you very much shad that's all I need to know you have pointed me in right direction mate thanks for your time I was totally in wrong opinion before

Wait is finally over!

Post by aamiraziz » Tue Jul 02, 2013 2:18 am

By the grace of Allah I have received my ILR a week shorter than 6 months.

Application sent: 28 Dec 2012
Biometric done : 26 Jan 2013
ILR approval : 21 June 2013
BRP issued : 24 June 2013

I came here in 2001, Student until 2008 when an extension was refused which led to 2 year long battle with home office and tribunals etc. Finally given DLR in 2010 for 3 years. I could have applied for ILR in 2011 but the solicitor I used told me to wait until my DLR expires, doubt if he was right, anyway that's past. To be honest I thought my application will take good part of an year to be decided whatever the decision is but I am thankful to The Almighty and prayers of friends and family to have received it before 6 months, not to mention this forum which has been great support in those long months. I am jail broken finally :D

I wish Good luck to those waiting, specially who applied in 2012. Peeps a little more patience, your documents are almost in the post.

Hi Amir,

congratulation, please share with me your appeal process how long it was taken, have u applied late your application like mentioned your student visa was refused.
My case a bit similar , during 2005 HO made case working allegation and set moving direction, Case went to court after two and half years HO took case back during this process my leave expired April 2006 i applied for extension 10 days late even my case was in court , HO not consider at that stage my application due to my case in court plus applied late 10 days, when HO took case back they gave me leave from July 07 and ex gratia payment too , near to me and my solicitor it was HO error so I was legal in this country during that time , Please you share your views in term of my case will be great . I last two on Tier1 general plus family with me nine year , kids in school 8 years, own home, etc , please your views. I need your prayers too.

ILR Set ( ) ) Application 10 years

Post by Yash33 » Wed Jul 03, 2013 1:37 pm

Hi All,

Just want to update all of us on the forum.

I spoke to an advisor at the UKBA this morning to check the progress of my applicaton, time line below:

Set(o) 10 years long residency
Sent: 24th Jan 2013
Received : 25th Jan 2013
No acknowledgement letter received but fee taken on 28th Jan 2013.

Biometrics letter dated : 8th Feb 2013
Biometrics done : 21st Feb 2013.

I was advised that my application was not yet completed and I will need to call back in 3-4 weeks if i dont hear back in the meantime..

She advised that due to huge backlog prior to Jan 2013, they are still processing Oct 2012 applications..

Waiting....

If I am correct, you can apply on the 10th July, at the earliest. I am also applying in August, having been here for 10 years.

What docs are you going to send?

Yes, she did say my application has been completed, but she can't find any tracking id to track my application. She also said that if I don't hear from the Home Office this week until Wednesday, I can call back and get a tracking id.
