no gaps, less than 3 months out of country, all stamps are there in the pp.

is this complicated, now it is more than 6 months. !?

FED UP of expecting the docs/BRP from the postman/courier.

Re: SET(LR)

Post by ppycrmt » Wed Jul 17, 2013 2:43 pm

Thanks for getting back to me. I have been out of the country 17 times in the last 10 years, some 3 to 5 days, so 1 month or 2. In my passports, there are only stamps for coming into the country and not out, hence I do not have some dates. I only managed to have my other dates is because I have kept my dairies for the past 10 years,. except I missed out on 2 dates.

So what is my best solution knowing I don't have an accurate/exact date?

No, it is not ok.
UKBA officer will have to go through all your stamps (in and out) to calculate exactly how many days you were out of the UK over 10 years. If the stamps are not clear, you are advised to supply additional docs (e.g. return tickets).
I also suggest adding an excel spreadsheet which states clearly which dates you were out of the country and the running total. I suggest also including the column for the visa duration, this way it will be also clear that you didn't (or did) overstay in the country.

Saying that, you can of course leave the officer to go painfully through all your passports and hope that they don't miss stamps whilst calculating.

Yes, UKBA only stamps your passport when you go into the country not out. But surely your home country/other country stamped your passports when you arrived there?
I strongly advise going through your records and try and find all the bookings for travels you had (flights, hotels etc, work related assignments letters).
Write a cover letter explaining the situation, ask your employer/university/college write a letter showing when you flew out of the country on business assignments.

Unfortunately when I leave the UK I visited Hong Kong, and all records are stored under their ID card, so there weren't passport stamps. I will try and contact HK authority.

I have just received my ILR on 10 year basis preiously Tier1 General. Guys, can someone tell me how much time I have to apply for my wife as she is on Tier1General Dependent and her current visa (Tier1General Dependent) is till March 2014 ? Which form I need to fill in?
Depends, how long she's been in this country for?
If she's been in this country for more than two years on T1 G Dep then she can switch to FLR(M) and then make a SET(M) Application.

Hi all,

Documents i sent were passports and life in the UK. Thats all they have asked us to send in the application form.. Dont know why people keep asking this question over and over again in this forum. IF ukba wants any other docs they will request you with a free envelope !! So do not worry about any other docs unless they ask you to send.

for varying the application, once you reach the 10 yr period and if there is an outstanding application, send the ILR application mentioning that you are varying it in a cover letter. pay only the balance of the ILR processing fee. i.e ILR - outstanding application. my outstanding application was tier 4.

Or pay the full amount for the ILR, and request for a refund for the outstanding application.

please read the long residence guidelines . They do update very often. all info is provided.

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys, I need your advice please.

I got my ILR on 10 years three weeks before, I already updated on the forum, But my wife not yet received FLR (M) applied in feb with me. Yesterday I spoken to home office after 30 minute waiting one nice guys response he said FLR M application not yet decided under consideration. I told him that my mother in law is not well (suffering from heart diseases) and critically ill in back home we informed him. He said on this ground we can expedite the case.

Need to send fax of medical report with covering letter and he gave me number also.

My question is they expedite on this ground or not and I got a fax from india stating a letter from hospital (medical under treatment certificate). Is this letter is sufficient with covering letter.

I need Your suggestion would be appreciated.

Hi guys....
I am applying for 10 years long resident soon but I have doubt regarding few matters so getting a help would be great.

(10 years) :4 years diplomatic visa and 6 years student visa

what happened is when my diplomatic visa about to expire, i applied for tier 4 but my application been refused and asked to leave the country and apply from my home country and within 21 days i granted the visa and returned to uk( does that considered as broken period?)

second question Can i apply in person?

and final question is type of application is it SET(o) or SET(LR) hence I'm on Tier 4 visa at the moment ( and what is the difference between them?)

Hope to get some replies soon
Thank you in advance ;)
