Congrate. September is starting now
bcyoung wrote:Hi all,

My husband's ILR arrived today after applying on SET(LR)
Send: 2/9/13
Ack letter: 5/9/13
Bio enrolled: 25 or 28/9/13 (thereabouts, he's not 100% sure)
ILR received: 15/1/14
Passport/documents/approval letter: waiting

It was a straightforward application, 6 years student, 4 years Tier 2. He sent passport, BRP and KOL test pass only. He had been out of the country for about 500 days in 10 years over lots of trips, including one 5 month trip to Australia. We didn't have passport stamps for any of the flights out of the UK and into Australia, but we worked out the dates from old diaries etc. We didn't do an SAR, didn't use a soliciter.

I'll now be applying for SET(M) - we are going to try for the direct switch, as I've been here as his spouse for seven years - as soon as I've done my KOL test.

As a bonus piece of good news, we are expecting a baby, and this ILR mean our baby will be a British citizen from birth!

Thanks everyone for this board, it's been so full of useful advice, and the updates have helped keep us upbeat and positive to see progress slowly happening. Best of luck to everyone, and I hope other September applicants start to see good news too.

Wow! Congrats to JTF2007 and ppycrmt! Really glad you guys got it.

Just a question.. both of you have said you got the biometric card in the post but no approval letter or passport? Is that correct? Usually the approval letter+passport comes first. Biometric card arrives a week later.

Honestly, I'm so glad to hear that. Finally, you can chillax! Lucky you.

Please pray for the unlucky ones and make sure to request Skydrive to be updated; no one deserves to go thru statusless phase of life where you feel restless, worthless, and helpless.

In advance, many congrats on becoming a mom soon; whatsoever happens, happens for good and in your case - just in time!

Look after yourself and your loved ones.

For SET(LR), you need to send all your passports, life in the UK test, English test and biometric card (if you have one).

If you do not have all the passports, may be one of them are lost, etc. Then you need to provide the rest of the documents like council tax, gp letter, etc to prove that you were in the country.

As far as I know your Masters Degree will be enough to provide proof for Language test but one the gurus can confirm that.

Hi,
I would be very grateful and appreciate if anyone can help me in my following issues:
I'm in the UK since 2014 as a student. In Jan 2013 i have applied for human rights case via FLRO and UKBA refused me in Nov and give me the appeal rights. They didn't return me back my passport and and all documents. I appealed against the decission and got my hearing date on 1/8/2014. I'll be 10 years in the UK in 20/6/2014. My ques is without my passport (I don't have any driving licence only have photocopy of my passport) how can I sit for LIUK test & English test? and what's the possibility of getting ILR in this scenarios??
I don't have any criminal records, was outside of UK once only for a month, didn't overstay etc.

Many thanks for your co-operation.

Yes I am my visa was refused because I took one semester off due to my baby birth.but judge dismissed my appeal and gave right of appeal in upper tribunal but my ten years were already completed so I didn't lodge my appeal and applied on long residence basis. This was my solicitor advice

I applied on 20th November 2013.Judge dismissed my appeal due to cap on level seven and did not consider human rights article 8 .I was sure my appeal would be allowed that's why judge gave me right of appeal in upper tribunal.

Hi bc_young,

Congratulations on your husband's ILR.

You mentioned in your post that you will be going for direct switch SET(M) instead of FLR(M).

Whenever you apply, please share your experience of the direct switch. I am also in the same situation. It will be very helpful.

Thanks,
