07 July 2012: Cheque bounced (wrong signature - d'oh)
09 July 2012: Posted bank draft with letter of explanation
August 2012: Received two acknowledgement letters
10 November 2012: Biometric invitation received, named spelled wrongly
12 November 2012: Called UKBA to request new Biometric invitation
16 November 2012: Received new Biometric invitation with correct name
16 November 2012: Biometric enrolled
April 2013: Sent complaint email to UKBA

Best of luck to everyone still waiting.

Congratulations mrbrightside - all the best for the future. Thanks for updating your timeline - gives the rest of us who are still waiting hope that we haven't been forgotten. Can you please give us details of your complaint email i.e. who you sent it to, how you worded it and the response you got back from them and how long it took for them to respond to your complaint.

Thanks, it was a standard complaint to UKBA customer complaints department (UKBACustomerComplaints at homeoffice dot gsi dot gov dot uk) where I explained my circumstances as well as highlighting my timeline. I also explained that I had several job offers which I had to turn down.

They have never replied to my complain email. I also contacted my local MP, who appeared to have ignored my request for help. My solicitor has also been sending them letters every month since January. I can't say if our emails and letters has contributed in me getting my ILR approved, but I guess not.

In all likelihood, all our attempts to communicate or gain a response from UKBA appears to fallen on deaf ears. But the fact that I've been granted an ILR despite months of silence demonstrates that UKBA doesn't appear to have forgotten about us.

Good luck. I hope you and the rest on this board will hear some good news soon.

I noticed you enrolled your biometrics around the same time as I did, so fingers cross they are processing yours as well.

Hey Dude,
It takes a while for payment to go through.
I submitted mine 2-3 weeks before you and payment is yet to be taken from mine also.
Feel free to call the AIT number and chase the application daily but pretty much the take payment when they are ready to issue you a hearing date.

So I called AIT today, I submitted my appeal on the 7th of May. it was received on the 23rd of May and payment was taken on the 16th of June. A hearing date will be processed in the next 2 weeks; a hearing date from experience is usually 4 weeks from date of process.

Hello lola56uk, now you know your hearing would be around end of July and so you can start psyching yourself up for that. At least the end is nearly in sight - best of luck!!

Appeal Date Confirmed

Post by lola56uk » Sun Jun 23, 2013 5:57 pm

For those of us awaiting to appeal; I thought I share my timeline with you from an appeal view.

Appeal Submitted - 6th of May.
Payment taken - Around the 17th of June.
Appeal Date - 15th of November.

At least this gives me time to gather all my evidence and arrange in a suitable manner. I wont lie but appeal date is very far away !!! but all the same patience is the key....

So your appeal date is five months from the date payment was taken - that is a very long time to wait. They certainly know how to frustrate us don't they? But then like you said patience is the key and this gives you time to get all your evidence together and prepare yourself. This too shall pass!

ILR approved, BRP received!!

Post by Hopeful2 » Wed Jun 26, 2013 3:08 pm

I have just taken delivery of my BRP card which was delivered by DX this afternoon. I had to visit the post office to pick up a package which they had attempted to deliver this morning. The package contained all the documents I presented to the Home Office plus my passport. I am amazed that I have received all my documents on the same day.

My timelines is as follows:

Applied for ILR under 14 year rule on 6 July
response received dated 23 July
1 October-invalid application
Biometrics on 20 November
ILR approved: 24 June 2013
BRP received: 26 June 2013
Passport and documents received: 26 June 2013

It has been a long journey for me - almost a year since I applied and now I am ready to face the world.

Those awaiting their ILR, I wish you all the best of luck and for those going through the appeal system, I hope everything works in your favour and you are given ILR at the end of your journey.

lola56uk, I will be checking on your progress via this forum and wish you all the best with your appeal. Take care and God bless

I am a silent reader here who's been religiously reading both the 14 years and 10 years ILR post as I was applying under 10years myself whereas my partner was under the 14years rule. We both applied in the beginning of July last year and we both finally been granted ILR recently. Similar to everyone here, it was a long painful wait..

Just to say a big congrats Hopeful2 and others who has finally been granted the ILR! Enjoy your freedom!

To lola56uk and Peter77 and others, I pray for you and all the best with the appeal. I would like you to know that we are all here behind you, supporting you!

For those still waiting, please do not give up hope!!

By the way the centre chosen for my hearing has to be moved for bias reasons and will be moved to one of the AIT in central London. will keep you updated when I get a new date.

I am so happy for you Hopeful2; I kept having an urge to check the forum yesterday but kept shrugging it off. now you have your I am more hopeful for mine now.

By the way the centre chosen for my hearing has to be moved for bias reasons and will be moved to one of the AIT in central London. will keep you updated when I get a new date.

Thanks lola56uk, I'm taking a few days to get used to the fact that I am now a "legal alien" and will start job hunting on Monday. I can't believe that I have started reading the posts on the "naturalisation" forum.

Will them moving hearing to London affect you in any way? Whereabouts in the country do you live? I look forward to reading your updates.

I like the terminology "Legal Alien" hahah
well I live in London , but my hearing was in Hatton Cross but as my legal advisers are Immigration Judges in that centre it as to be moved to The central London one. Which is actually better for me as I live closer to central than silly Ol' Hatton Cross.
TBH - I heard judges in Hatton Cross are way more strict than Central London.

Looks like the die is cast and there is nothing you can do about it so just keep to your plan - get as much information as you can and make sure your barrister presents a watertight case and you will sail right through. Remember God is in control!!
