5 years qualifying period query

Post by Carifb » Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:33 am

Hello,

I need some guidance on the upcoming ILR application of my wife. Please see her visa and arrival dates below:

Visa Type: PBS dependent
First BRP issue date: 27/12/2017
Arrival in the UK: 13/01/2018
Second BRP Expiry date: 31/10/2022

1) When the 5 years qualifying period will be completed? 27/12/2022 or 13/01/2023?
2) Since her leave is expiring on 31/10/2022, can we apply for PBS Extention and then vary later when the 5-year qualifying period is complete?

Many thanks,
Arif

1) 27/12/2022
2) Apply before visa expiry and then book the appointment within 28 days of completing the 5 years. No need for an extension

Thank you so much, Zimba.

I'll submit the application after the 25th of October and book the biometric after the 1st of December. Hope that should be ok.

Many thanks for your help .

I am filling out Set O form. It didn't ask for the date of the first visa issuance. Rather it asks the following question and says that the period of stay will base on that date. Please guide.

"Date you first entered the UK"

When did you first enter the UK?
(Required)
This is the date you entered the UK when the period of stay you are basing this application on started.
