6 months minimum employment guidance

Post by ryrypot » Mon May 17, 2021 9:33 pm

Hi all,

I (British Citizen), will be helping my wife apply for her ILR in January 2022 (Current Visa expires in Jan 2022)

We will be using my income for the financial requirement, but I am really confused about the rules about 6 month minimum employment and multiple jobs, etc.

Here is my situation. I am currently working two part time jobs and earning around £16,000 pa. But I have also accepted a new job (£25,000 pa) and will start in September (quitting both previous jobs), with my first pay check likely being on 30th September 2021. During the time of our application, I would have only been at this job for around 4.5 months, so am curious about what I need to do here.

For a breakdown of my pay from now until Jan 2022.

May 2021: Job A (£750) + Job B (£600)
June 2021: Job A (£750) + Job B (£600)
July 2021: Job A (£750) + Job B (£600)
August 2021: Job A (£750) + Job B (£600)
September 2021: Job C (£2125)
October 2021: Job C (£2125)
November 2021: Job C (£2125)
December 2021: Job C (£2125)
Apply for visa in January 2022.

As a side note, I do have some savings available to boost the finances, any idea how much I may need?

Thanks in advance
