It is indeed and a poor photocopy to boot with a pink 'official' stamp on!!!

I tell you something else, they couldn't locate my marriage on the registry 1 year after getting married, so I got a photocopy of the register from the church, faxed it to the official department to help them find it. All they did was stamp the fax they received with the pink stamp and posted that back to me!! Incompetence is an understatement. Actually I am still waiting for one document I ordered in May 2008!!!

Thank you so much for the cover letter!
keano wrote:Cover letter for the visa? Mine was:

SET(0) Application Covering Letter
Please find enclosed my SET(O) application under the Ancestry path. I am applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain on the basis that I entered into the UK on 27 April 2010 on my ancestry valid granted on 14 April 2010 and have completed the five year qualifying period.

Below is background detail on the supporting documents provided:

Previous Travel Documents:
I have provided a photocopy of my previous New Zealand passport XXXX and UK Entry Clearance valid from 14 April 2010 and showing entry 27 April 2010. This passport was stolen in Paris, France on 16 November 2013. I have attached a copy of the French police report and certified translation. My travel insurance company kept the original. The original was sighted the Croydon Home Office on 11 December 2013 when I was granted a biometric permit XXXXXX through the transfer to stay process.

Absences:
I have included a list of all my absences. I have spent a total of 158 days in the five year period out of the UK including 34 days for business and 124 for leisure. All the leisure trips have been using my paid leave or use of flexitime from my employment. My current New Zealand passport XXXXXX shows all absences from December 2013.

Finances/Employment:
I have been employed by the same employer for my entire period in the UK and have provided a letter from XXXXXX confirming this and my continuing employment and salary. My employer pays me fortnightly so I have provided payslips from January to my last payslip paid 2 April 2015.

I have provided bank statements from the last 3 months to confirm receipt of my employment income and funds available to me. The final statement is dated 7 March as the 7 April statement is not available. I have also attached a bank statement from my savings account to confirm I also hold £xx,xxx to continue to support myself.

Ancestry:
I qualify for ancestry through my maternal grandmother born in Suffolk. I have included the following birth certificates in addition to my own: Grandmother and Mother.

Kind regards,

It was excel document split by year showing all absenses outside the UK and reason (leisure or business) with total dayss for leisure/business/5year qualifying and last 12 months. They weren't that significant and no proof provided other than current passport and pointing out last passport was stolen.

I quite often go to Europe for weekends out Friday back Sunday so quite tedious when they only count as one day.

Yes good point. I went on a couple of trips a year so I'll be ok. Might include an employee letter from last 3 years travel. By last 12 months do you mean before you moved here on ancestry? Is it a requirement to state the previous 12 months travel? I travelled Europe for 3 months then cCanada? Does this matter?

By last 12 months do you mean before you moved here on ancestry?
Meaning the 12 months prior to date of application. Any travel you did before arriving on Ancestry visa in the UK is not relevant to your application.

Hi all, applying for premium service in February so starting to get nervous but probably don't need to! Thanks for all the help especially to Keano and Char. So by scouring many times on the forums, I believe I will need:
* Mine, my mother and grandmothers original birth certificate

* 6 months of pay slips
* 6 months bank statements for savings and normal account
* Passport
* Life in U.K test pass letter
*Set O form
* Letter of employer stating I'm of good character and employment will continue if I receive ilr
* List of absence (although they are well under the requirement)

Will these documents suffice for the application?
A few questions though of course, will I need a letter from previous and current employer stating I have taken holidays as part of my annual leave?

My current land lord is my partners mum, should I include a letter from her as a reference?

Do I include past bills as address proof?

when on the form it says payslips dated no earlier than one month before the application, what does that mean exactly? Also on the booking page when it says what category of leave are you applying for? Is it dependent? It's that or tier 1 general or 2 which I don't understand!

Sorry about all the questions!

Looks like you are good to go.

Your last payslip must be the most recent, i.e. not older than 28 days and then the rest before that.

No need for landlord letter but won't harm if they ask and you have it with you.

Bills, I am not sure, perhaps take a selection with you just in case. Also maybe all your P60's as proof of residence/work for 5 years.

I am not familiar with the online booking but suspect you are applying under the 'Other' category for ILR. If you can list all the options they give, it will be clearer for me.

I've checked on the site again, it says tier 1, 2, other main applicant or dependent?

Ok I won't worry about land lord letter, thanks so much char! Is an employer letter required from previous or current employer and is hard to book and appointment slot for in person premium service? I believe I have 3 p60s so I unsure if that's enough I can get employment history through hmrc though I believe?

You are applying under the 'Other Main Applicant' category then.

Not too difficult to get appointments and once you decide on the date you want to apply, you can see what is available from 6 weeks in advance and book.

HMRC employment history will be good then, apply for it now as it might take a few weeks to get to you. Not sure if they can issue it in one of their walk in centres.

Thanks Char! Wish it was a bit clearer that would've been lost! So I'm not tier 1 or 2 because I'm not points based? Sorry to bug but do I need letter from employer? I'll call hmrc tommorow :)

Not sure if Ancestry applicants need a letter. If you can get one, good and if asked you have it with you. Would be a bummer if asked and you don't have one

I've just realized I didn't clarify about letter from employer, I meant it was for recent absences...I have been there for two years do I need a letter from previous employers about holiday absences?
