Hi everyone,
Please for you who have passed your life in the UK test. How did you prepare for the test. So far I'm just practicing online with the online test. I did buy the book. Is the book really useful or I have chances just with the online website.

Thank you.
Ps: my test hasn't been reschedule so fingers crossed

This is off topic here.
You are expected to read the book to pass the test but most people simply practice online and pass without any issue

I rang the helpline about reopening and the woman on the phone said not to expect the test centres to be open until later this month/early June and that when they reopen, as all the slots are gone, if you haven’t booked a test appointment yet, not to expect a slot until mid June.

Thanks for this! Very helpful. My booked appointment is 21.05.20 so hopefully it'll still go ahead and I can then apply that afternoon. My visa actually expires 22.05.20 but I'm concerned about applying beforehand and saying No to the LitUK question and just adding my proof of passing with the additional documents, so hopefully all goes well on the 21st!?

Hopefully! It’d be pretty nice to have better info in terms of under which conditions the test centres will be allowed reopening rather than postponing every 2/3 weeks

I rang the helpline of life in the UK test this morning. They said it is possible for people to sit on the exam on 21st May. I really hope the test center could open at late May.

For people whose visa is about to expire: You can get the visa extended until end of May 2020 or you can apply for a new application and you will be protected under section 3C. There is no solution but to apply as normal and upload the evidence later when you can :!:
Dear Zimba, is there any indication of how long the is possible to wait between submitting application and uploading the evidence?
My common sense is that deadline is before having the UKVCAS appointment, but if no appointment can be booked due to centres being closed, then?

Hi,

I am in the same boat. Visa expiring June 2 need to apply for ILR and life in Uk test moved twice currently scheduled May 5. Called immigration on the covid helpline and they said wait for a few days and there are chances they will blank out the LIUK test but she was not sure it may or may not happen. Planning to submit my application anyway latest by may 20 but does anyone know if we submit application and wait for centres to open to give bio metric ? If anyone is submitting application please let me know what you did for the LIUK test field .
Has your test being rebooked again? If so, until which date?
My wife is due to have her test next week, but so far it has not been rebooked automatically, but also test centres remain close.

I just called the life in UK helpline again. They told me that the test center will not open until 25th May. Sad

Someone posted yesterday on another forum I follow that they rang the covid helpline who informed them that covid guidance will be updated on the 22nd or 25th of the month. So hopefully good news then!

I called the helpline again. A lady gave me a definite answer that the home office informed them to open the test center on 1st June.

They still didn't reschedule my appointment which is on 21st May.

Let's hope they definitely open the test center on 1st June.

Same I reached out to them and he said by the end of the week they’d be open. So annoying how there are multiple answers for the same question but I think people who are having their tests rescheduled to a fair point in the future is because the test slots over the next month are completely gone.

Helplines are often manned by third parties and admin staff who are not the decision makers. You should not rely on any advice or promise given by them. This has been repeated many times on the forum and has caused a lot of confusion for the applicants (including wrong/incorrect immigration advice leading to refusals). Test centres will only open when they can ensure it is safe to do so. You should wait until the centres officially announce that they will open and ignore any info given on the phone :!:

Hi all,
I had my LitUK test rescheduled from mid April to this Thursday. I was expecting it to be rescheduled again but received an email last night which was an appointment reminder. As far as I know the centres haven’t opened up again (mine is the Computer Learning Centre in TW3), but I guess I’ll make some calls tomorrow. So stressful.

So I called the Hounslow Centre (closed), and the LitUK centre (who told me it would be rescheduled), and have just received my email saying it's been rebooked to 24th July. Womp. So is the consensus from the experts here to just put in the application ASAP, check "no" on the LitUK question and just submit proof later on with documents?

Yes as there is no evidence or sign that the centres will open anytime soon

My test was rescheduled for 26 May, and I haven't heard from the LITUK test organiser about another schedule change yet. So I am not sure whether I should make arrangements to get to the test centre (I'll need to take a train as there is no available test centre in my town). I also think there is only one person answering the phone every time I called them to ask questions, who doesn't seem to bother to do his job.

I called the call center today. The automatic message said all the tests before 31s of May will be canceled and will be automatically rescheduled. Mine was on 23rd and I had received the reminder email as well. I checked my booking now and it has been rescheduled to 1st of Aug!
