someone who came to uk on asylum, stayed for 10 years, and then got the indefinate leave to remain on `special circumstances`....does this person get nationality free of charge? or do they need to pay......would the indefinate leave have been given free? they just got the indefinate leave recently..last few months, would they still need to wait a year until nationality given, or can they do something fraudelent to get it within few weeks/months. we know of someone whose in this situation, and keeps asking for 500pounds from people for this saying he needs to pay a solicitor....but what solicitor could he be paying when everything done thru home office..? sounds dodgy and we dont want to help, if everyhting legal then ok, but so far doesnt sound convincing, doesnt he get help if hes on ILR in special circumatances, plus hes applied for a crisis loan apparently....

Hi

does this person get nationality free of charge? No

would the indefinate leave have been given free..... ask the applicant, they probably had a solicitor who charged them for their services.

would they still need to wait a year until nationality given; yes and also need to have passed life test in UK. The NCS can also check the application before its sent.

or can they do something fraudelent to get it within few weeks/months. [b This is an odd question?...anyhow I doubt you'll get a reply on how one can fraudulently acquire British nationality [/b]

The Indefinite leave to remain for 'special circumstances' doesn't sound dodgy. Lots of legacy cases are being granted indefinite leave for reasons outside immigration rules.

But I wouldn't lend anyone £500 for any reason. Maybe I'm just mean...
