Unfortunately, this still does not answer my question. As mentioned in my earlier message, the rules (Appendix FM-SE) also state "...all of the following evidence must be provided: Payslips covering: any period of salaried employment in the period of 12 months prior to the date of application..." I am still unclear as to whether I need to provide evidence relating to my previous employer whose employment I am not relying upon in order to meet the financial requirement.

You are answering your own questions repeatedly. If the rules require you to provide the payslips over the period of 12 months, then you must provide them. The fact that you are not relying on them then becomes irrelevant. As I pointed out you must provide whatever requested from you in the rules/guide
