Gift money in Bank statements

Post by vibe123 » Thu Jan 24, 2019 9:53 am

Hi Guys,
I applied for my ILR from Tier 2 (SET 0) on 23rd Dec, 2018 and Biometrics on 27th Dec using super priority service and no update till today.
My question was : My uncle sent me 930 pounds as gift money from oversees on 15th December,2018 and then 350 pounds on 5th January,2019. This is the same bank account I get my salary paid in. Just wondering if I have to declare this money to HMRC and pay taxes ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think you are fine. You dont need to pay taxes for Gifted money anyway.
