ILR - applicant’s salary

Post by Lika77 » Sat Oct 14, 2023 11:26 pm

Hello,

I’m going to apply for ILR as a spouse of a UK national. However, my sponsor is a director of his own company and we found this route to be quite confusing. Can the applicant apply with their salary under category B (less than 6 months with current employer + previous employer)?

When I applied for FLR(M) I relied on my husband’s salary when he was employed by a company.

Thank you.

Yes, possible with your own salary under cat B

Employment less than 6 months with the current employer (Catagory B):
You must satisfy the requirement in two parts
1) Your current annualised income is above the threshold (£18,600+)
So salary earned divided by the period in which it was earned, then multiplied by 12 must be above (£18,600+)
AND
2) In the last 12 months, you earned in total, at least the min salary needed (£18,600+)

Thank you, Zimba. I have the payslips from my previous employer. Do you know if I should provide my P60 along with my P45? Thanks.

P60 and P45 not required. Your payslips and corroborating bank statements suffices.

Hi all,

I have one more question regarding the financial criteria.

I’ve been working with my current employer for 2 months - I earn £26K yearly. I already have the payslips and a letter from my employer stating my annual salary.

However, in my previous job I earned £12 per hour for 40 hrs / week. I just have the payslips and the contract of employment which states my hourly rate as well as the number of hrs I worked per week.
I can’t get a letter from my previous employer as I didn’t leave in good terms.

So, I didn’t have an annual salary per se. How do I mention that in my application?

Thanks

Your annual salary does not matter for your previous job. The total earnings you had only matter. The annualised value is relevant for your current job. Please read what I posted above again !

Thanks. It does matter as in the application I have to state the annual income before tax for my previous employment.

Do you know if I can provide the figure that’s on my P60?

So just to confirm, I have 2 payslips issued by my current employer. I just need 10 payslips from my previous employer? Thanks.

Yes. Again, your previous annualised salary does not matter as per the rules. Read the guide and you can see the documents under category B :!:
