ILR - Gap when changing jobs

Post by vic_msn » Fri Jul 02, 2021 7:31 pm

Hi

I'll be applying for my ILR in the next couple of weeks.
I have changed jobs since I started working here in the UK back in 2016.
I am working for my current employer since 2019, there was a two week gap between the last working date with my previous employer and the joining date of my current employer.
It was because my current employer had been doing some background checks.
I was in the UK during this period.
My Cos with current employer covered this period and my current BRP was also valid for those two weeks.
Is this something to be concerned about?

Thanks

ILR - Letter from previous employer?

Post by vic_msn » Fri Jul 02, 2021 7:43 pm

I have changed jobs, what letters are required from my previous letter.
I am requesting a single letter which mentions my start date and end date with the company and that I was sponsored by them during the period, my last salary at the time of resignation and a list of absences from the UK in one single letter.
Would that be enough from my previous employer, or do I need any other additional letters from them?

Much appreciated.

I believe you only need a letter from the current employer as you have been with them since 2019 ie longer than 6/12 months.

Your current employer needs to provide the letter along with last 6 months payslips and bank statements.

There is NO requirement for 6 months payslips and bank statements for Tier 2 ILR route. Only the most recent one month of each is required.

The user does need an absence letter from the previous tier 2 employer.

cheers, both so it should be sufficient to just get one letter from previous employer listing my absent dates from the UK for the period I was working for them?

Thanks

Also the 2 week gap shouldn't be a problem?
