Settlement -delay PEO Croydon

Post by chweetgurl » Tue Mar 13, 2012 4:31 pm

Hi
I applied in person at Croydon PEO Office on 7th March, They gave me a letter stating my application was valid but due to further enquiries my application is pending and gave no timeline. I spoke to the member of staff she mentioned my file was not in their live location and will take 24-48 hours. So far no news..

Welcome to the anxious waiters club. No updates for people waiting on such applications but precedent has been 2-4 weeks. But some people have been waiting for longer. All the best and hope for speedy decision and good news for everybody waiting for their ILRs

We are all in it together. Forums help people who are waiting and keep hopes up based on shared experiences.

Please keep us posted on your progress as well

Do you have a contact number for Croydon PEO. So far people have been unsuccessful trying to reach the PEO or caseworkers.

It goes to contact centre and they say it is not possible to check status on PEO unless applications have been waiting for more than 6 months..

Dear Jaskiratbaweja

I have been following this forum since I made my application in person at PEO Croydon on 21st Feb. They asked for additional docs and I posted them the same day! I assume they received them, although I have no way of knowing as I only sent it as next day delivery not recorded.

I am due to fly to Australia in 2 days as my father has fallen ill and I have booked flights which I told the case worker at the time of my application, but she didnt seem to care.

Am I the only one who has not used a solicitor?

I would have thought all of you who have employed a solicitor to assist you should be complaining bitterly that they have no power or mode for progress updates.

My problem is that I did not know to realise I should request to pick up my documents and passport, so I assume they will be sending them out in the post. I assume also that there is no way of requesting now to collect my docs?

I wish you and all the others waiting patiently a speedy return of your successful ILR

I can understand your predicament and the tough time you are going through. I pray that your case is resolved soon and hope the same for others waiting as well. I wish a speedy recovery to you father.

No I did not apply through a solicitor. I applied personally and also supplied the additional documents myself. I only used a solicitor's advise to check if I should be submitting any additional documents apart from what was requested.

Based on the precedent of few cases that people have posted on the boards, people waiting from the 21st should get it within next 10 days
but there is no guarantee. All we can do is pray and hope for the ILRs to come through soon.

What were the additional documents requested of you and did you track delivery of documents via Royal Mail?

The additional documents was a P60 from a previous employer, I thought it irrelevant as I worked for that employer before the 5 year period for which I was applying. I have been in the UK for 7 1/2 years and so I have had 2 work permits. I have worked for my current employer for the past 5 years and 2 months, so I assumed the previous employer and work permit was not considered.

I have not tracked the additional doc, I have looked at the royal mail reciept but it has no tracking number or reference.

Thanks.

Keep faith you should hear back soon. Lot of documents that they request at PEO are not mentioned as mandatory and the confuse requirements for various categories.

Basically they are looking for any show stoppers as they have to reduce immigration numbers. Never mind coming down on the immigrants who have duly paid taxes and gone by the book apart from things likes absences which have been changing every single day.

The way HO operate and lack of inconsistency is incomprehensible. All you can do is hope and pray for the best.

On your royal mail receipt for next day delivery there will definitely be a 13 digit tracking number.

Look here on how to find the tracking number http://www.royalmail.com/track-it-down

All the best and keep us posted

There is only the 0870 number and they have no clue. You need to have a strong reason to complain to MP and it's just been a week. May be it will work. If it does then that's the way for all waiting to go.

It is a strong enough case because the delay was caused due negligence of PEO croydon not having my file by the time of my appointment and secondly i was misinformed 24-48 hours time line by one of staff and her supervisor said no timeline! Although on their website states 24 hours or soon as possible.
Its also that i need to travel due my nan's illness and now because of this whole delay its on hold...
Its worth pressing every possible button
It seems like my request on freedom of information has been picked up and i am waiting for them to respond.

It is just complete insanity on how UKBA is handling all our cases. Hope everybody gets theirs soon. Hope your nan gets better and you manage to get your ILRs and passports in time to make the trip.

I spoke to UKBA on the 0870 number - Lady who answered was polite i explained my situation but she was unable to mention progress on my application (as we all know UKBA's stupid policy) and she could see my documents have not left home office and that It was up to to the caseworker to take up my file. I asked her then what should i do ? suggestion was to fax croydon office a letter.
Which i will do tomorrow and see what happens!!

So effectively these are just sitting in a queue and whenever the caseworker rather senior caseworker has some free time on their hands, they will pick it up and process they case.

Additionally the call centre team do have visibility of what's happening with a particular application.

Its very annoying, I feel croydon PEO is very bad in processing the applications. I booked an appointment @3.00 since they were finishing of for the day they just pick on us and put on hold.

I got a letter something like in order to consider your application promptly and fully you need to send the listed documents within 14 days to enclosed label the docs they need is 5 different letters/docs addressed to me and my wife.

I had 2 years joint acc statement and her payslips at that time but he said he need it from different source I am not sure weather my passports and docs were kept in croyden or sent to liverpool (lable) I have sent the requested docs (15 different) on 5th but no news yet. let us see.

I think they always do and did have visibility but are unable to discuss any thing about application. The lady on phone highlighted that unfortunately she cannot discuss, I told her i was aware and understand that but had urgent travel plans and it was not my fault. Her suggestion was fax..

If the label was for Croydon then your application will be processed in Croydon. In case the label was for Liverpool then your case will be looked at by the team in Liverpool.

Let us know your experience of faxing the letter over to them. I can see from the thread that there is lot of us waiting. Hope the caseworkers process these applications quickly.

All the best everybody and keep us posted.
