The latest similar case to be processed on this thread was from PKP who sent his documents to PEO on 15th Feb .

ILR stamped on 29th Feb and got his passports back on the 5th March.

I asked her then what should i do ? suggestion was to fax croydon office a letter.
Which i will do tomorrow and see what happens!!
Is it better to send a fax or send an email? I think I will send a fax as well tomorrow...

Best would be to send a letter by post to CaseWorker Team at Croydon. Otherwise Fax or email is equivalent. Do you know the email address?

So effectively these are just sitting in a queue and whenever the caseworker rather senior caseworker has some free time on their hands, they will pick it up and process they case.

Additionally the call centre team do have visibility of what's happening with a particular application.
I think they always do and did have visibility but are unable to discuss any thing about application. The lady on phone highlighted that unfortunately she cannot discuss, I told her i was aware and understand that but had urgent travel plans and it was not my fault. Her suggestion was fax..

Curious to know how you actually spoke to someone as I have tried to call on the 0870 number and there are only recorded messages....??

You need to choose the option where it is for general queries (I think option 4) or the option that says 'if you have been waiting for more than 6 months'.

This has indeed been a very dry week with lots of people with PEO delay waiting and nobody seems to have heard back from Croydon PEO. I do not know how they prioritise and process the applications.

For me it's coming to almost a full month since the date of application and 3 weeks since additional documents requested have been supplied.

Hope the next week is a better one and brings the good news for people waiting on ILRs (jaskiratbaweja, ausgirl,chweetgurl,Panda_0077, Ranga, vtp11321,mtpsk,Zyron)

Have a good weekend all.

Finally ILR approved and received

Post by jaskiratbaweja » Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:52 am

Folks. The doorbell rang and the postman had a package from UKBA. I nervously opened it and finally really relieved to see the ILR stamped on our passports. Thank God :)

Thanks a ton for your support and prayers. Wish the same for everybody.

Date Applied (at PEO) : 21st Feb 2012

Date additional documents received at PEO : 28th Feb 2012

Date ILR Stamped : 04th Mar 2012

Date Passports Received : 17th March 2012

They were sent by second class recorded post posted on the 15th Mar 2012 . UKBA did not use the next day prepaid envelope I had sent with the additional documents requested for my application.

I am so thankful and happy. All the best everybody and hope other waiting hear back soon as well.

Thanks a lot guys. I wish the same for all of you.

It also reiterates that despite absences, cases do get approved. I had 216 Business related absences and 179 Personal absences.

On top of that I had 1 year unemployment between 2009 - 2010. So Tier 1 has no issues with employment gaps.

Just ensure that you supply proper and detailed documentation and be honest and upfront.

Hi jaskiratbaweja

Congratulations on your ILR.

I had same problem went to Sheffield PEO to extend my Tier-1 visa but caseworker just gave me letter that my application is valid but they are doing further checks. They did not ask for more documents. I provided more than enough documents also. So I will have to wait I guess.

Can I ask you said you were unemployed for a year? I heard you have to be economically active otherwise you won't get ILR, did they ask you anything about your unemployment?

Can you please reply I just want to know if unemployment makes any difference or not?

Economically active clause was for HSMP and JR applications but for HSMP (after Nov 2006) + Tier 1 (General) all you need to satisfy is the points criteria. So being unemployed in-between is definitely not an issue.

All the best, I am sure you will hear back with good news soon.

Thanks jaskirat, From seeing previous pattern seems to me like pending cases are usually processed during weekends?
Just its the tension and waiting...
