I think The people that are waiting 2yrs plus, applied cos they were illegal and re trying to sort themselves out legally. Those kind of applications usually take ages, but UKBA are planning on clearing the Backlog by 2011.

I dont think we will have to wait 2yrs!! I hope not anyways.

I will be 14wks and counting come monday? Nothing back on your end with regards to ur application?

Oluwa112, I see. Thanks for explainations. I was more worried.

I call the HO about 3 times a week. The answers are almost identical:" Your application has not been decided. UKBA will contact you in due cause. 95% of the applications are determined within 6 months. The only thing you can do is to wait."

Good luck on Monday. Let us know what information you get.

waiting times

Post by taylondon » Fri Nov 13, 2009 4:08 pm

I know many people waited 2 to 5 years
back in 2000 I knew a girl who got married with a british citizen, she waited from 1998 to 2002.
Her solicitor wrote to HO by beggining of March 2002 and threaten them to proceed to court.
2 weeks later HO responded, admitted that they lost the passport while they were moving the buildings from old boulding to Lunar House and they asked this girl to send 4 photos
they sent her ILR on the paper, she had to go to Turkish Embassy, obtained a new passport, went to HO Croydon and got it stamped on her passport

ILR Processing

Post by khaweriba » Mon Nov 16, 2009 10:08 pm

Hi All

People who have posted their timelines here on this form, shows that HO quickly processed cases during Oct 15 to Nov 5, before oct 15 and after Nov 5 there has been a slow in the processing. Even they are talking time to get the payments out from credit/debit cards after Nov 5.

The only reason I see is that they DO NOT have sufficient number of staff to handle that....Does any one know what number of applications do they process each day or per case worker....etc....does home office publishes this figure?..i dont thing so that they would publish this figure as it would go against them...

Hope that we all hear a good news this week from home office.

ILR Processing

The good part of UKBA is that they are making ever step to strengthen UK workforce by eliminating people who do not deserve to be the part of UK economy.

Comments are welcome.

Agreed. This could be part of the function of UKBA.
However "strengthen UK workforce" does not have to bring in the long-delay side effect.

Does that include all the drunks and dorsers who won't work and are born here :D
The Ukba has a purpose but it does not necessarilly strengthen the UK workforce, it is just trying to lessen migrants from outside the EU at present as they have had high immigration numbers due to the free flow of EU migrants from the various accession countries and due to the UK government being one of the main supporters for the implementation of the EU, they cannot be seen to put any caps on EU migration as France and Germany did, so therefore by counting EU migrants in their immigration figures the numbers have skyrocketed.

The government keeps talking about takling migration of people from outside the EU as they fully well know that when people think of immigrants they think of people of colour such as Black, Asian, Chinese, Indian etc... so then they don't go on to explain the immigration figures further. There is not that much migration from outside the EU anymore, even the Universities are suffering as they have not Enough Non-EU students at University who can then pay High Tuition fees to Subsidise the cheaper British and EU student fees.

GOT ILR

Post by khaweriba » Thu Nov 19, 2009 10:25 am

Million thanks to God. I have got the ILR today from postoffice.

It is stamped on Nov 16, 2009. The letter with it says my ILR starts from June 2009.

It took 7 weeks and 5 days from the date I sent the documents.

But the letter DOES NOT says anything about the refund of 2nd visa extention - FLR. Will it come automatically or I will have to write them.

All the best for those who are waiting.

Best regards,
MKI

Guys,
Who ever has applied based on 5 years i.e. WP or WP + Tier-1, pls mention their waiting time. Looks HSMP JR processing is quick.

My case: WP + Tier-1 > 10th week in progress

Cheers.

Folks,

Its really a very useful information from this forum and appreciate all of you for making it very interactive. Here is my Update:

Applied ILR on Post - WP + Tier 1 basis with 3 dependants

Date of appliction - 26th August 09
Date of payment deducted and Acknowledgement - 28th August 09
ILR stamping - 18th Nov 09
Passports + documents recieved today - 21 Nov 09
Time lines - ~ 12Weeks

Note: While i was in WP have to be out of UK for around 6 months due to work requirement with the same company and provided the letter from the company acknowledging the same along with my application.

Seems HO is just started progressing on the WP + Tier1 apps as i can see for the last few weeks it was HSMP JR based ILR updates

Wishing all congrats who have recieved and all the best and congrats for the waiting members

Thanks

Great congrats,
My case is similar with 3 dependants, I had a mail from HO before applying ILR to apply via postal due to the absence but they mentioned if I have correct documents then I will get it. Hope 2 more weeks.
Can you tell me if you were paid in UK during the 6 months absence.

Hetch16 had beyond 17 weeks, provide more details , did you have long absence or is it a straight fwd but WP based application.
