Congrats everyone who received their passports. It looks to me once you are over 12 weeks, you are waiting forever. It is either less than 3 months or forever.

I'm sorry to have to suggest this but have you considered legal action? Because surely if you have complied with the rules, waited the 6th month allocated etc. for information and now this shabby treatment. I'm sorry but it isn't right.

Perhaps suing them will get their attention. How utterly unfair. What possible reason could they have to keep denying you your documents?

Anyway, I have to sign off now. I'm travelling to be with my ill son who's going to have an operation. Wish us well and hopefully, we'll meet again in the citizenship forum.

hi Smz all the best for you and your family ,

for legal action , i cant because my useless solicitor suggest that to me and he said i have to pay 2000 which i dont have , secondly he said it wont make any difference because it will take up to 13 months if i take them to court , just my mp seems useless i dont know he just gave me answers that i already knew . Just any ideas guy if have to email another mp or suing them but that its gonna cost me money which i dont have at the moment . im really stuck .

Need Real professional help guys

It was straight forward as far as I know and I used their Settlement Checking Service so all the required documents were posted as well.

It was straight forward as far as I know and I used their Settlement Checking Service so all the required documents were posted as well.

i dont know how you lasted 10 months me its been 6 months and i start freaking out completely , you should call the home office and ask them to give you a good reason or try to contact your mp to see if he can help because its bluddy long time , some people got it in 8 12 weeks me im not that lucky , one of my friends he got cautioned beating his wife and he got in 5 weeks ? can you imagine that ? and us we done nothing like that and look where we are , try to do what i suggest because me i done everythin i can but no results specially the useless solicitor

It was straight forward as far as I know and I used their Settlement Checking Service so all the required documents were posted as well.

dont get a solicitor trust me , its the mistake of my life i made , deal with it your self , solicitor its just money with the stander results

if you had money for solicitor, surely just apply in person and get it all sorted on the day?!)

i think people who have complecated applications not that honest here and worry those who have truly straight forward application ..

Is the processing of ILR application on 10 yrs residency done differently ?

Just had a look at the other link in this forum and am quiet happy to see that the average waiting time is just 10.7 weeks.

I wouldn't say that. I have applied for SET M and now waiting for over 14 weeks. I have a pretty straightforward case. We have tenancy agreement to both our names for the last 2 years. Council tax, all utility bills are all on both our names. We are both working and both have generous salary above national average. (paying quite a lot of tax) No benefits, no dependants. Bank statements with good account history. We sent utility bills more than 3 different sources and a lot more than 6 letters.

I just think that some case workers are lazy and your folder is just sitting around and it can even be forgotten for some time. I think each case worker is allocated with a number of case. Some are slow and some are quick. That's my opinion.

The wait is unbearable and nothing can justify holding someone's passport for more than 6 months with no information given. not even a complicated case. It is so wrong and I cant understand how they can get away with it.

Trust me , they are lazy , they can't their job properly , some people there got conscious and they do their job , some that they just their for fun because they know if you complain no one cant do anything about it , imagine my friend with a caution and he got in 5 weeks , but he was working like a machine 12 hours shift a day 6 day a week sometimes 7 and he was earning quiet a bit ,so like you said its just your luck where ur application is
