Thanx haha for your response. I was getting a little concerned. I must say now that you mentioned, all those that have recived the ILR have been none 10yrs Residency. It means you should be able to call and make enquires by the end of the month. If you do call can you give us feedback on their response to your queries.

On that Note Congratulations to Every success story, Good Luck and Gods Favour to those of us still patiently waiting :-)

Beginging of Week 10 of my wait

oluwa112, you only need to wait for a month or so - that is a good news. Two weeks ago, I sent an email to UKBApublicenquiries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk. In return I received an auto-reply only.

@ Haha. Thank you but I am being optimistic with Caution... :-)

About u e-mailing the genral query address, you will indeed only get their auto response. If you have your
Acknowledgement letter. You will have a signatoury. Their first name and last name.

You could try your luck @ just writing that person. As you can notice in my e-mail to my case worker on the letter
I didn't actually ask about the progress off my application but I kinda drew a grim
Picture of my situation, I was extra polite and didn't push for a response or anything like that. I just expressed my concern and how I was feeling
And left it to her to respond if she wanted to.

Now to get the e-mail of your case worker, it will be

Firstname.Lastname@ukba.gsi.gov.uk .

You can try, the reason I wrote was that if I called Home office won't ell me anything cos 14 wks has not passed
Also e-mail is most likely to be read then post, cos its not addressed to anyone and it may even be trashe and goodness know what else.
So I opted to e-mail and see what happened. Like I said I wld have jist been satified by knowing that it was read. But I really and truely
Appricate the reply from the case worker.... :-).

Hopefully not long to go for you, considering you applied some 2.5wks before me!

oluwa112, Thanks for your advice.
I checked my Acknowledgement letter today. The signatoury is "UK Border Agency". There isn't a name on the letter I am afraid.
Yesterday and today are the postal strikes in London. I won't be receiving anything until Monday.

@ Haha, sorry about the fact that you only have UKBA. I just assumed everyone that got their acknowledgement letter had personal names on. But my case was a bit different since I had a PEO and the person that made the decision on the day had to sign the letter.

I received the letter dated 21st September that they had received my application for ILR SET O - JR. I am praying that the average 8 week wait that seems to be posted here is the case. I am meant to be going home for xmas on the 16th December and am panicking. No luck from phoning them as they are useless over the phone, I presume they have a script to follow and do not deviate from this!! Has any one received their ILR yet that applied in September?

@ mccauleysa

so far from the comments in the Time Line Topic, it appears those that Applied SET 0 HSMP JR - ILR in August are getting their application back in this Month of October. So by that, it is Possible that you might get your passport or decision back by November or Early December since you applied Quite Late in September.

So Fingers Crossed you make it home for Xmas with your ILR endorsed in you Passport. I applied Set O - 10 yrs Residence 10th August 2009 and I am still waiting, hoping I make it home for Christmas as well! But I thing 10yrs route is dealt with separately from the other SET O applications cos people that applied after me on other SET O applications have got their Passports Back.

Good Luck and all the best!

HSMP ILR JR Processing time

Post by khaweriba » Sun Oct 25, 2009 1:59 am

Hi Everyone.

I was woundering why HO is talking 8 weeks to deal HSMP ILR JR applications. I have heard that there are 2 teams dedicated to HSMP ILR JR.

Havinig said that, I was analysing how many cases do these 2 teams deal in a day. For example if I consider that they deal 3 cases per team per day, it means they deal 6 cases per day and approx 30 cases per week.

If the above analysis is correct it means that must have dealt, by now from 20 May 2009, approx 690 cases (23 weeks * 30 case per week = 690 cases).

And I am sure that there any many people who directly go to PREMIUM SERVICES.

My question: Does any one know how many HSMP holders were effected by this decision and how long will this blockage will last?

Suggestion to UKBA. If they are getting this huge number of ILR applications from HSMP JR, why dont they increase the case worker, afterall they will get the difference of payment, for example approx GPB 200 * 120 cases per 4 weeks = GBP24000.

Suggestions and comments are welcomed.

Best regards,

MKI

@ khaweriba''

My assumption is that the backlog is partly due to the summer holidays. Two friends applied for their ILR under HSMP JR at the end of June and beginning of July and both got their passports back within 3-4 weeks.

Hope this helps. Kind Regards

ILR - JR Delays

Post by jahmadj2 » Sun Oct 25, 2009 5:04 pm

One of my friends applied in July via post and received ILR (set (O) JR in 6 days.

Another applied in first week of August and received ILR in 16 working days.........

People applying for hsmp extensions are getting extended in max 2 weeks (I know thats a different team).......

A simple update to ILR waiting times stating current average weeks on UKBA website can save us a lot but who cares...... & calls to 0870 numbers is a bonus...isnt?

Khaweriba,

First of all, I don't think those two teams work in a parallel way. Maybe Team 1 is in charge of Phase 1 and Team 2 is for Phase 2 - or something like that ...

>> for example approx GPB 200 * 120 cases per 4 weeks = GBP24000.
What is the GBP 200 for?

GBP200 is the difference of payment. i.e. 5th Year extension fee minus ILR fee.

When UKBA says two TEAMs. The word TEAM means a group of ppl who work together for a complete task. A couple of week processing time is okay but when it goes over months. it means that there is high demand and for high demand UKBA should do usefull steps to cover the demand because they are charging huge amount of money against the services they offer.

One more thing, what make UKBA to ask for ORIGINAL PASSPORTS with ILR applications? If they dont ask for PASSPORT with the application, they may still do their job. For example, when they complete proceissing on an application, say in 2 months or 3 months or in 2 weeks, they may then ask for the passport and stamp the visa or in other case, rejection, the just return the documents back to the person.

This way, the person may still be able to travel, while his/her application is underconsideration, unlike what is happening these days.

Hi Everyone

The UKBA website has two WAITING TIME. One says 95% of postal application within 6 months. as on the following link.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ukres ... tingtimes/

Seond says that on 26 Oct 2009 we will consider application received on or before 07 Oct 2009. i.e a gap of 3 weeks, as on the following link.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... tingtimes/

So which one is applicable to our applications that go via HSMP ILR JR.

Thanks

MKI

Dear all:
Finally, after 4 months minus 1 week that my ILR finally gained. Here are my case and how my application went through.(postal application sent last week of June 2009)

*ILR base on 10 years long residence rule
Due to I lost my first two passports which covered nearly 4 years of my life here in uk. My lawyer said that I need to use postal application. Therefore, we posted application around 10 days before I completed 10 years stay in uk.(I came to uk for studies for 7 years and then 3 years on work permit. In between, all Visas were extended or changed before expiry date). We posted DOCs as listed below.

*life in the Uktest pass paper
*3 months bank statement.
*all my college certificates.
*letters from home office when gained my work permit.
*list of absences from UK(only cover the period which we can see from the passports that I have and only cover approx 7 years life in uk)

and then we waited for 14 weeks without any updates from home office(apart from knowledge letter from home office two days after we posted the application). Finally, in the end of SEP, my lawyer received a letter from home office , they requested me to provides some Docs( listed as below)

*School letters with detail absences and attendances of every courses I took during the period which covered the lost passports.
*GP visits details cover the period.
*Detail absences from uk covered the period.
*any other useful Docs which may help the case.

Then we posted more Docs to home office as listed below

*letter from University
*I got certificate of leave and enter from immigration bureau (My home country) to show the date I landed in uk.
*some bills from landline, council tax, contract for my flat, landline ,mobile...etc.

Finally, after 8 days my lawyer posted the extra supporting DOCs. My ILR is gained. I am very happy and over the moon. Hope my story will help others.

Note: rules are rules ,so read the guide line carefully then you can clearly know you can get ILR or not. Also, if you can apply through same day service I will highly suggest you to do so to avoid a lot of stress, worries and sleep less nights which I went through.

Good luck to you all.

@ "khaweriba"

The one that says 95% of postal application within 6 months is the one applicable to HSMP ILR JR

The other refers to those making initial applications or extensions for the Tier 1 visa (previously HSMP) and is not related to ILR.

Hope this helps
