Set O ILR application

Post by Oztag » Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:20 pm

Long time lurker who has finally received ILR. This site has been helpful so here is my timeline.

Application type Set O
Date of application. 13 September 2012
Biometric letter. November 2012
Biometric enrolment. 16 November 2012
As I had heard nothing after 6 months, I wrote to UKBA on 19 March 2013 seeking a timeline for my application and asking that it be processed. It was suggested to me when I called to see what always happening that the only way to get any information was to write. I complained that they did not appear to be processing applications in date order and asked them to explain
Approval received. 25 March 2013
BPR received. 26 March 2013

I don't know if the letter made a difference, but their policy requires them to respond formally to complaints if they cannot be resolved in 2 days and I wonder if it was just easier to process the application.

So, just over 6 months and the sage is ended

Hi, Congrats! Mine is a similar timeline as yours. Could you please let me know where we should write to (address)? Is there a link providing guideline on the same? Who suggested to you to write? Thanks.

It was an operator on the UKBA enquiry line who said writing would be the only way to get any information. I did not find any guidance on this, but the UKBA complaints policy is available online and I had a look at that.

Nice. I sent mine off September 17 and like you I sent a letter to them on 20th March when I couldn't get through on the phone. The difference is that I sent my letter to the Croydon address which is supposed to be for Settlement visas. Still waiting for any response. I'll give the Liverpool address a go.

Success and fast

Post by lee1664 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 6:07 pm

Hi All,

After reading through this forum i was expecting a long wait, however i have a timeline here that may give some hope to all those who are in progress of the UKBA terror.

Applied ILR SET(M): 30/01/13 (used checking service)
Acknowledgement received: 04/02/13
Payment deducted: 04/02/13
Biometric letter: 22/02/13
Biometric enrollement: 22/02/13
Biometric card received: 27/03/13

total time: 1 month 27 days

Back ground information,

USA national, entered the UK on 1 year student visa and then followed on to a 2 year unmarried partnership visa.

very fast very happy, maybe the UKBA have turned a corner. Good luck all!!!!!

I completed 7 months today :)) I have been regularly calling them but no use. I am stuck without knowing what to do now. I was suppose to be on holiday from tomorrow, which I booked 8 months ago, now thats all finished. I guess I will just have to wait it out :)

I think the whole thing depends on luck and on what mood your case worker was on receipt of your application.... Clearly there are procedures however not all case workers are sticking to them, judging by some timelines mentioned

Anyways here is my timeline

applied for ILR on 19/09/12 based on 5yrs work permit although I have been here for 12yrs..
biometrics in November cant remember exact date
02/02/13 received a letter to submit September bank statement
04/02/13 BS sent and received following day (according to Royal Mail)
24/03/13 Still waiting

Getting frustrated I have to travel on the 5/4/13 and most importantly this could stop me from being able to do my job as some projects require to see a passport if you are a foreign national and I had informed them I will have it week commencing 25/3/13...a week after end of 6 months.

Does anyone know if a lawyer can get involved at this stage or there isn't much they can do either?
Hi hall, got great news I received my documents this morning, letter dated 25/03/13, just over 6 months.
BRP is coming within 7 working days.

Good luck to all

Hi all

Just joined the club. I've posted my SET(O) application just now. I know I'll need to twiddle my thumbs for the rest of the year but I'll keep posting the advancements (if there are any).

This forum has been really helpful.

Cheers

Set(O) August applicants - Anyone still waiting?

Post by dhanku » Thu Mar 28, 2013 8:11 pm

Is there anyone, who applied around 22nd Aug still waiting for a response.
I applied for a Set(O) on 22nd Aug 2012, with 3 dependents via the Tier 1 (General) route after 5 years .
I am tired of waiting now - over 7 months now - and worried I may be alone.

Love to hear from people in the same boat as me - and and also what steps have they taken other than calling UKBA.

when does my 2 years probationary period start from? is it the day i get married in the UK or the day i get my biometrics residence permit? they took 7 months to give me a residence permit after my marriage. is this seven months counted in my years 2 years Probationary period or is it just a waste?

Has UKBA been scrapped today?

From BBC:

The UK Border Agency is to be abolished with its work returning to the Home Office, Theresa May has announced.

Congrats ants2009

I do hope that they also speed things up for backlog applicants, especially those who have been waiting for six months or more.

first post but i'm nearly six months into waiting.

got a telephone call from the Home Office last night (the man was processing my app and needed to confirm my postal address?!?)...

anywho... here's my timeline:

11/10/2012 - posted application - Set O
12/10/2012 - application received (tracking information confirmed)
17/10/2012 - confirmation letter of receipt received
12/2012 - Biometric Enrollment Request received (enrolled same day)
02/2013 - Identical Biometric Enrollment Letter received (i emailed asking if i needed to re-enrol and also rang... was told, over phone, there was an error after the Post Office sent the previous data so i needed to re-enrol. I did so the following day).
02/04/2014 - Received telephone call from Home Office to confirm my postal address (I am an academic on research leave so working away from home. I posted a letter in January to confirm this and suggest a delivery address for passport/BRP and other docs).

STILL WAITING
