Follow up steps:

• 26/03/2020: email from HO about "exceptionally complex case".
• 08/04/2020: email from HO: “Although we would normally decide your application within 24 hours of your biometric details being uploaded onto our systems, we regret this is not going to be possible in your case.”
• 08/06/2020: First escalation (an automatic reply received).
• 29/07/2020: Second escalation (no response from their side).
• 10/08/2020: Third escalation (no resposne from their side).
• 17/08/2020: I called MP and asked him to kindly follow-up the case on my behalf as I had not any other idea. He informed me that he contacted the HO and asked them to urgently consider the case.
• 19/08/2020: Fourth escalation
• 21/08/2020: email from HO: “The appropriate team has been notified regarding your request. UKVI hope to action your request as soon as possible.”
• 17/09/2020: Second call to MP: I told him that I haven't got the outcome yet and the six months have already passed (despite paying £800 extra for Super-Priority 24-hours service!!!). He told me that he chased them on 17th of September.....
• 23/09/2020: Fifth escalation ....

• Still waiting ..... careless and inattentive system ..... It is affecting my mental health and personal life .....

I would advise any applicant from 18/09 to check for appointments. I booked my appointment at exactly 1:00am this morning and received IDV app email 3:23am.
Also, if you do want an earlier date then the only option to pay minimum £140+ for your in-person appointment.

We escalated our case to travel to the states for compassionate reasons, so I’m not sure how useful our timeline is!

It was a cumbersome process to escalate and we called in favors from anyone we could, but we got the decision just in time to travel when we hoped.
