Many thanks tier11417.

That means I will not be able to send the 'Hard Copies' of the documents, am I right?
As a result I will not be able to attach 'sticky notes' on the documents mentioning what the document is for. 'Sticky notes' is very helpful for a case worker to understand what that document is for.

1- Is there any chronological 'order' by which the documents are to be scanned and uploaded or can it be done in any random way?

2- What will be considered as the date of application - the day the online form is submitted or the day the biometrics is done?

I plan to apply in Feb this year.

Kindest regards,
Globe Trotter

No you cant add sticky notes but you will upload them in relevant categories

1- Is there any chronological 'order' by which the documents are to be scanned and uploaded or can it be done in any random way?
You can upload the documents in the relevant categories each file has to be less than 6MB. I would advise you to go through the members thread “Meesha” where she has detailed it

2- What will be considered as the date of application - the day the online form is submitted or the day the biometrics is done?
online application submission day. Make sure you hit the submit button when you are in the qualifying period

I plan to apply in Feb this year.

Many thanks tier11417.

The link provided was really, really helpful.

While scanning the docs, did you save each file as per their relevance. i.e.
Passport page 1
passport page 2

Google Invoice - Front page
Google Invoice - Back page

Thanks,
Globe Trotter

I created PDF versions. If multiple pages per document better to have PDFs, I think personally.

For example 30 pages of a passport can go together in 1 PDF etc.

Yes, that makes sense.

And while saving the PDF's, did you save it by any particular name?

For example, if you are saving the passport copies, then the first page of that should be saved as Passport Page 1 and the second page as Passport Page 2?

And invoices to be saved as Google invoice, Gumtree invoice.

Or is there no need for that?

The passport always gives page numbers anyways. Atleast mine does. I just named the PDF file for example “Current Passport” etc

Many thanks. That really helps.

And you have mentioned in your posts "As I read the paid CAR gives resignations also. But my CAR does not mention that or share allotment. So probably its the free copy also".

What does 'CAR' stands for? Is it mandatory?

Current Appointments Report

Yes it is mandatory.

You can get a free copy from webcheck but it has to be dated within 3 months of the date of application.

Ignore the resignations & share allotment bit.

Hello,
Under which category should I upload the 'Cover Letter' as I want the case worker to go through it first?

Query regarding RTI / FPS document

Post by Globe Trotter » Sat Dec 29, 2018 4:10 am

Hi Everybody,
Can anyone clarify whether RTI / FPS document shows employee start date or not?

My accountant is adamant that RTI / FPS document will never have an employee start date on it.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Globe Trotter

It depends on what software he uses. Mine does show.
But the start dates are not required anymore on FPS as the law changed in Jan 2018.

You will confirm/declare the start dates on the online form.

Thanks dear all for your valuable replies.

Tier11417, you have mentioned that you will voluntarily send your personal bank statements.
There has to be some logic behind that thought coming to you.
May I know why you considered sending your personal bank statements voluntarily, because it is always better to send what is required and not to send extra documents?

Regards,
Globe Trotter
That is true.

Background:

The old SET(O) paper form had a finance section 5. It was a generic form but Tier 1 had no option not to fill that. It was unclear if that was needed so members were sending payslips/personal bank statements in support of that.

However, the online form removed the doubts that indeed the finance section is not relevant to Tier 1, hence no personal statements requirement. The online form asks only relevant questions and provides a checklist of documents to include.

If you have a healthy balance to show and you have the bank statements available, I would personally think it would not do any harm so I choose to include.

Why you dont want /or want to send personal statements?
Hi Tier11417,

On my FPS RTI I was paid basic wage without tax. do you think I need to submit my personal bank statement?

Thanks

The online form provides a space at the end of the form where it allows you to mention anything in support of your evidence if you think your business is complex etc or you want to make clarifications. But it says they will not rely on it to make a decision but it may help them find answers there and save time. If they will read it first? I dont know. You can include it there though.

I have not yet uploaded my documents but I think I will just upload it in the business category cz thats where most of documents will be uploaded.

Cover letter is not mandatory so I will advise you to inlcude the extra detail in the online form itself where it provides the extra space. That would be a better idea to include there

Many thanks tier11417.

I guess it will be convenient for the case worker if we include the extra detail in the online form itself where it provides the extra space.

Thanks once again for your valuable suggestion.

Re: Query about docs required

Hello,
Under the title "Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth?", do I need to enter travel details that happened in 1995 to 2001?

I personally feel it is not relevant to mention that travel history as it is more than 18 year old travel history.

Can anyone throw some light on this whether it is required to mention such an old travel history?
Will it be considered as deception if I do not mention it?

Kindest regards,
Globe Trotter

I think they ask about all countries you have lived since your birth including your country of birth so u should mention it even if it is old.

I included cover letter in Others.
The space provided in application form was not allowing me to add more than 3 lines though it says u can write 1000 words. How it went for u?

Thanks Meesha.

Do you remember if this question was asked in the 'Extension Application'. Do you have any link to the previous application form of 2017?

I dont have any saved form related to extension. I think these are some of their's standard questions but i dont remember answering it in past. I remember mentioning absences in past though. I think u should disclose it as u must be sending all old passports anyway which will show it too.

Regarding proof to sustain without relying on public funds

Post by Globe Trotter » Fri Jan 04, 2019 4:06 am

Hello everybody,
Though "Self Payslips" are not mandatory, how important is its role in the application process?

How can the caseworker be convinced that the applicant is able to sustain himself if the applicant does not send his payslips (considering the fact that even the personal bank statements has not been sent)?

Kind regards,
Globe Trotter

There is no such requirement for Tier 1 so really you dont need to convince the CW.
