Welcome. Waiting time 6-12 weeks to get biometric and 6-12 week after getting the biometrics done. If more than 6 months, then it is with asylum case workers i.e., active review or UKBA blunder. :) keep cool
Hi Festronaut, you said if they take more than 6 months, then it is with asylum case worker, can you tell me how do you know that if this is correct or if you are just predicting? why do the do that if the application is simple. And have you done your biomatrics yet? how long have you been waiting for now. Thanks

Hi Khus9201
I posted a link to a file on this msg which gives guidance to UKBA caseworkers regarding protection route applications. If you ask me, Am I guessing it, No. I'm not guessing, it is reality (if you have read the whole document, you would agree with my final statement). The file also tells about SPECIFIC situations which could trigger active review, etc.
Din't you receive yours' yet?. If you haven't, then its disheartening to know that. Khus9201, I couldn't find your timeline from this thread. Can you post your time line?. Have you done ur biometric enrolment?. I thought that you have received your documents. If you are waiting for more than 6 months, it doesn't mean that it is in active review now. (may be staff shortage). Try calling UKBA past 6 months timeframe, if no response, involve your MP.
Finally, I would like to reiterate that NOT all the applications which have taken to resolve more than 6 months have gone for active review. But at the same time, ALL active review cases would take more than 6 months. :) Hope it helps.

I did my biometrics about six weeks ago too. I applied in July. I expect that we should receive in 2 weeks time. If you still did not get the reply in 3 weeks time, 1) Try calling 08706067766, then choose option 3 or 4 [applicants waiting for more than 6 months]. If they did not give you any response or if they say "it is still under processing", then try involve your MP.

I would give max 3 months from the date of application to receive the biometrics. Yes, it is true though, some had received it earlier. Try calling them after 3 months [hopefully, you don't have to call them]

Hi Doodoo2012,
I think this is due to the lag factor. Did u remember that U called UKBA to inform that you have changed ur address, probably they would have initiated another letter to be posted to ur new address assuming that the previous letter was lost.

It is always better to call UKBA (preferably the Biometric guys) and get to know, why did they sent you this letter twice.

By the way, did you get the biometric invitation for your wife?.

Hi Festronut...

Yes the biometric for my wife arrived just two days before the second one but we only found out after we got home on the way back from the post office. so she had done her biometric when we got the second one.

I think I am just going to do the biometric again and let them go with the flow. it seems they don't communicate and don't check. The second biometric invitation says due to failure to submit your biometric we invite you for another one and this time you have 17 working days instead of 15. I did my biometric and so did my wife within the 15 working days. I think they just messed up everything and they want to start again.

The HO works like a production line, if you interfere at some point they get confused and they start messing up. I believe this happened with me due to change of address.

Mina, it is not funny. It is frustrating and disgusting as I already did my biometric 6 weeks ago which was already await of 4 months. Now it means we wasted 6 weeks of progress!!

Festronaut.. we are still classed as unwanted so we get humiliated in their hope of giving up our rights ! If we were citizens you would be able to get passport same day.

I think, it is high time to be patient with UKBA. They have thousands of applications to go through. I think Mirna misjudged the waiting to be 'funny'. Let us ignore it, everyone gets slipped. :)

Festraunet and khus did you get any decision yet

Post by mshasan24 » Sun Nov 25, 2012 4:10 am

Hello

I have been away from this forum some days but since that time I can see many of you have shared with us a lot and many folks have joined on the queue good luck, well one of my family member have been granted ILR on this 17 of November I will share with you his time scale

Date Applied: 22 July 2012
Biometric Received: 17 September 2012
Biometric Enrolled 19 September 2012
He have received a green ID card with his biometric photo written on INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN on 17 November 2012.

The total time was 3 months and 25 days.

I have applied mine on 24th of August, Received the Biometric on 18th and Enrolled on 19th of October and I am still waiting their decision.

Festraunet I wonder if you have receive any decision from the HOME OFFICE yet, how about you khus9201 because I remember both of you have applied back july like my family mate if you receive any thing please share with us

Answer to Doodo

Doodo the second letter you have received from the UKBA is a normal one their is nothing you have to worry of, and the reason is, when you have changed your address they have not updated on their system and you were thinking that they have updated; what happened was that they have sent you the Biometric Enrollment letter to your old address which you have not been noticed and after they have sent their you have called them and found out that they did not update your new address, as I reckon from you they asked you to update your new address online, then when you have done that, the computer have sent you two different late notification letters, one was the one you have requested from them when they updated your new address and that was the one you have provided to the post office.

And the second was a normal notification related the first letter they have sent to the old address, in another words you have enrolled your details and you don't need to do so again as I think because I my self receive the same letter from the UKBA and when I asked my solicitor they told me every one gets it.

I wish every one for good luck

Thanks Mshasan for sharing the info. Yes, I have applied way back (July 1st week and still I didn't get any reply. Khus9201 wrote that he did not get his document as back as 2 weeks ago. UKBA takes different timescale for different people. It depends upon the case, caseworker etc,. We will be patient and hope that we will receive our docs by next week. :)

Time line

Post by alex_shvjac » Mon Nov 26, 2012 10:40 am

Hi all,

I am new here, but been reading the posts for a while.

My timeline:

Application: 13th August 2012 (me + 2 dep's)
Biometrics letter: 5th October 2012
Biometrics done: 6th October 2012
ILR and any other info/letters: waiting

However, I have received a strange letter last week, which said that their records are showing that my 5 year leave expires and that I have to prolong my stay, blah-blah-blah. I panicked a bit but my solicitor said it's an automatically generated letter and I should ignore it. He advised that a number of his clients have received same and it doesn't mean anything.

Good luck to all of you!

ILR Granted

Post by arabictiger » Mon Nov 26, 2012 12:56 pm

Hi everyone,

I've been reading this thread for a while now. Well, since I applied back in August.

Today I have received my ILR today and I would like to share my timeline with you.

Application sent 27th of July
Received by HO 30th of July
Bio metric Letter Received 15th of September
Biometric details submitted 15th of September
ILR Received 26th of November (Letter dated 20th of November)

Please don't worry guys. I am only 21 years old and I have done this without any help from a lawyer or anything. It is dead easy and no need to worry.

I strongly advice you to contact your local MP if you ever experience any problems with your work or benefit entitlements etc..
I had some complications at the beginning and contacted my MP via E-mail and he replied to me straightaway (within 3 days).

That is all guys and thank you so much for the valuable info you all post here. I am sure this thread is followed by tons of people who can't be bothered to participate but still it is worth the effort because it really helps everyone in this situation.

I wish you all luck and success :D
