Hey I received SJPN for driving without insurance (I was riding electric bike) there were other offences as well like driving without safety gear and driving a motor vehicle aother than in accordance with licence.
I pleaded guilty to all the offences and I wrote in the mitigion that I didn't understand the law about the electric bikes and I accept the penalty that the court will see.
I want to clarify that in the notice it stated that ( if the court found you guilty your conviction will be recorded at the court but it will not appear on the National record data base)
After I pleaded guilty and wrote the mitigation there was an option of allowing the magistrate to make the decision in your absence or attend to the court.
I thought it is better to attend to the court so I chosen that i want to attend to court
After that I recived a letter from the magistrates court labeled as (summons on referral to court)
And it said a magistrate has decided your case should be referred to a full court hearing.
Reason: defence request.
Then I went to the court and they gave me the fine and points on licence.
The fine was on one offence only which is driving without insurance.
I would like to know if that means this is conviction will be recorded on my criminal record and it will affect my ilr application i am due to apply for that soon.
Could please anyone help me to understand this situation.
Thank you all
