I got call to collect documents on 6th May and today (7th May) collected my documents and approval letter.

Below my details

2. Documents provided
(a)Passports: Current and past passports of self and dependents
(b)BRP of self
(c)Life in the UK Pass certificate (self and sp
(d)Degree Certificates (self and spouse)
(e)2 Photographs for each dependent and 2 photographs of self
(f)University letters saying our degrees were taught in English (self and Spouse)
(g)NARIC letters (ELA) (self and spouse)
(h)Point based calculator (self and spouse. Downloaded this on 5th April and is really not required)
(I) 12 month payslips attested by employer
(j) letter from employer confirming salary credits
(k) letter from employer explaining my absences
(l)12 month Bank statements showing my salary credits
(m) Tickets showing my business trips outside UK
(n) Cohabitation docs: last three year council tax bills, last 3 year joint account statements of bank 1, last 1 year joint bank account statements of bank2, electricity bills of last 3 years addressed to both of us (initial few were addressed to my spouse only), Marriage certificate, child birth certificate
(o) SET(O) form and cover letter

Absence more than 180 days - None

Even though you have no amendments in tax in your previous applications, did the case worker ask any questions around tax discrepancy in extension or initial applications. I am going with full time employment for ilr but just wanted to know if the case workers are enthusiastically asking any questions around amendments etc.

I applied and received my ILR yesterday (27th April)at PEO Cardiff. Below are the documents I have submitted

Category: ILR ( Tier 1 General)
Number of dependents: 1 ( But applied separately after two hours as a separate application with separate fee)
Total cost: £1900 - Paid before 18th of March and probably the last person who could able to get this slot within the limits of 28 days
Documents provided
1) SET (O)
2)Passports: Current & Previous
3) BRP
4) Life in the UK Pass certificate and a Photocopy of my Masters in UK
5) Accountant Letters
6) Photographs
7) Payslips
8 Invoices
9) Bank Statements supporting the above
10) SA302

The only worry I had is I have amended my tax returns of the year 2010-11 in the year 2013. It was a genuine mistake but still I am bit worried as there are quite a few rejections on this basis.

Overall time it took was 1hr 45 mins and it was pleasant experience. Thanks to all the moderators, Especially to "Vinny"

- Category: Tier1 (G)
- Centre: Croydon
- Dependants: 0
- Total cost: 2375
- Qualifying period: AUG 2010 - Present.
- Employment: Permanent Salaried PAYE employment since late 2013. Director of LTD company (Mar 2013), PAYE under umbrella company (May 2012), and fully granted PhD student previously (2010). Long story..
- Absences total 130+ days in 5 years. All for holidays, non work related.

Documents provided:
- Recent and expired passports
- BRP
- Payslips covering 12 months
- Bank statements covering 12 months
- Cover Letter
- LITUK cert
- 2x photos
- Employer Letter
- Photocopies of all documents
- I have a Masters Qualification that I used for previous T1 (G) application/extension so I just ticked that option while claiming it for points and proof of English competency.

No drama at all except it was a long wait, was a Friday. Took ticket at my allocated time (1040). Case registered at about 1130. Finished biometrics at 1210. Was told 1.5hour wait minimum.

1415 my case shown on big screen as under consideration. 1505 shown ready for collection. 1515 called to 'special' counter 44 :). Job done.

I wanted to post this here because there may be many people (me included) that are worried about having P60s and what not.
I supplied what was asked for in the forms and guidance + Cover Letter and Employer Letter and all was OK. That said, since 2012 I have been working at a very large reputable public sector employer.

Edit: For clarity, my employer letter does not state anything about absences. I just wrote in my cover letter that they are all due to holidays, and giving a nice table of out/in county dates and reason (mirroring the form basically).

manorey wrote:Hi All,

Finally the wait is over and I got my ILR today. Here is my story in case it's useful to anyone. (although pretty standard).

- Category: Tier1 General
- Center: Cardiff
- Dependants: 1
- Total cost: 3800 -- they DID NOT ask me to pay the difference in fees that was in place after 18th of March
NOT EVEN the £63pp out-of-hours fee for being a Sat appointment! -- I don't complain tho :D
- Absences from UK: 135 in total all paid annual leave.
- Documents: Pretty standard set of docs: Payslips + P60 (matching exactly the 12 month of salary) + Bank Statements + LIUK + University Degrees (UK), etc. -- NOTHING out of ordinary really
- NOT PROVIDED AND WAS NOT ASKED: evidence for annual leave absences
- PROVIDED BUT NOT SEEN: Proof of finance (ISA accounts), Marriage certificate
- COHABITATION DOCS: for every three month from two years back provided 1 join (or two individual) -- NHS letters, GP letter, Bank statements + water bill + elec bill + council tax + UKBA T1G Ext. Letters for both

ON THE DAY (appointment at 10:30):

10:00 -- did not let me in, said come back at 10:25
10:20 -- went in and security checked
10:35 -- case registered & all documents handed over (in my original ordered folders -- I highly recommend everyone to do this)
11:35 -- a staff asked me to fill a form about self-employment and given I was 100% salaried employed I just ticked a NO box.
12:20 -- biometrics + photo taken
14:20 -- called over and ILR APPROVED!! and documents back! -- YAY!

In total took 4 hours which is a bit lengthy, but it was through their lunch time -- so understandable.
Hi congratulations!!!

Successful ILR application

1. Category - Tier 1 General
2. Number of dependents - 1
3. Total cost - £3800
4. PEO branch - Croydon
5. Documents provided - salary slips, bank statements, letter from employers regarding absence since first obtained Tier 1, degree certificate & transcript, life in UK for me and dependent
Cohab evidence: rental agreement, mortgage agreement, home insurance, children's birth cert, council bills, electoral registration letter
6. Absences more than 180 days in any of the qualifying years - no (153 days since eligible)
7. Any Additional Comments - did not include children as would be applying for naturalisation. My covering letter explained everything and I had organised the documents neatly, labelled and clipped everything in order. Made it easy for the case worker which they mentioned during submission! Any queries please ask (but no idea about self employment criteria)
Hi congratulations!!!

Even though you have no amendments in tax in your previous applications, did the case worker ask any questions around tax discrepancy in extension or initial applications. I am going with full time employment for ilr but just wanted to know if the case workers are enthusiastically asking any questions around amendments etc.

I got my ILR approved today & first of all thanks to everyone for sharing your experience (especially @Kanswam & @TechBro), it gave me good confidence before the big day... despite having 6 points in my driving licence (speeding offence) & few pounds (£200/-) difference on my self employment income that I shown to HO & HMRC SA on my 1st extension... (Note: despite this £200/- difference, I still meet my income threshold of over £35k-)

Appointment time: 8.00 am
Entered inside Croydon office: 7.50 am
Token number: 103 (so 3rd person in the queue)
Registering, submitting documents & doing biometric took approximately 10 mins
After biometric, the lady informed me that I will be called in an hour... but approximately after 90 mins, number displayed on the screen for collection... that's it... all approved...

No self employment questionnaire form been given to fill. I went with solicitor, so he did told me that at Croydon centre, questionnaire form will be provided only if the self employment + salary income combined is below the threshold level however at the other centres they give you the questionnaire form to fill straight a way & he was right as I didn't get any questionnaire form to fill in....

I booked my appointment online before 18th March & therefore I paid online only £1900/- I wasn't asked for any extra money / new fee.

For the absence, I filled in saying "Holiday to xx country" & "Business trip to xx country". Holiday & Business trip combined equals to 134 days. No employee letter been provided for explaining about holidays... (as I don't think its that easy in my case, as I worked for 4 different companies in the last 5 years..)

In case if I can be of any help let me know, I will try to answer it... for me now I have to start preparing for my wife's application...

my case was registered at 8:11am , i was third person , been called to a counter took all the documents and placed in file.
been called for bio metrics at 8:23am , and been told to wait in cafe area.
At 9:02 am i got announcement to collect .

can t believe it took approx 45 min for whole process .

i have been told , coz of easter there were limited appointments that day .

DOcs i submitted :

1) SET O form(new form and old fees).
2)12 months payslip and bank statements .
3)2 photos

I got my ILR yesterday, waiting for BRP now.

I would like to thank all members of this forum and special thanks to the moderators and everyone who have provided me with advise.

Below is my experience:
Category: Tier 1 (General)
Dependents: 0
Total fees paid: 1900 (Appointment booked before Feb 18th so new fee was not applicable)
PEO: Solihull
Employment status: Full time salaried employments
Out of UK absences: total 89

Documents Provided:
1. Cover letter
2. Employment letter confirming earnings
3. Salary slips
4. Salary account bank statements
5. LIUK certificates
6. Original Degree, PBS Printout awarding 10 points (selected Tier 2 General in PBS calculator)
7. Absence letter from employer (s)
8. HMRC letter for Pay, tax and employment history for last 5 years (HMRC didn't provided details for current tax year)
9. Passport
10. BRP
11. English language pass certificate
12. 2 Photographs (I have seen some post about photos with round edges, i had similar photos. They accepted it)

Reached at 8:50 , was asked to come back at 9:10. My appointment was at 9:30. At 9:36 i was issued a ticket and a form to fill with self employment details (was not relevant to me but I believe they scrutinize people with self employed earnings).

I was called for submission of documents at 10:15, took less than 5 mins. Then i waited for Biometric in the waiting area, called for Biometric at 10:45. I was told i can go out after that, roamed around the high street and had lunch. Got a call at 12:11 and the lady at reception said docs are ready for collection. At around 12:20 the approval letter and original docs was handed over to me.

Few additional information i wanted to share (some of them as :
1. I had few penalty charge notices. I didn't mention it on form, just mention in covering letter that i have few PCN but didn't mention in form as they are not criminal convictions, criminal offense or civil penalty under immigration act. Did not give any details. I was in doubt since the new form which came out in Nov 2015
2. I didn't fill the below sections
1.10 (home office reference
5.6,
12L,
Section 9 Subsection c (continous residence)
Hi congratulations!!!

Advice to self employed/Limited company directors , Keep all of your paper worker in order. I was not expecting this as I did not claim any thing on self employment but yet have to explain all .
