Wanna share my story, it might give a little inner satisfaction to some people, specially for those who are in a similar situation and route.

ILR on the basis of LR (long Residence) from Tier 1 Entrepreneurs
I got extension in mid of 2017.

Now applied ILR on the basis of Long residence
Same day service
At Solihull
Appointment time- 9:30 - But went in at 8:45
Token,registration and fingure prints took 45 mins
But at the same time one lady asked me to fill up a quastionare.
She asked me to wait outside of the building for our call, it might take two to three hours to decide ur case.
I came out at 9:40 after initial procedure.
CW called me at 11:00 and asked me business bank statement.
I have all business documents till that date in case if they ask anything.
I went in the centre within five mins and handed over bank statement to reception people.
I asked a lady shall I go out or stay in
She said stay in if in case CW needs to speak to u.
I sat at waiting area and after less than five mins reception lady called my token no and she handed over my documents with approval letter.
I think CW already have prepared my approval letter etc
I gave my business bank statement only for recent six months.
Actually CW wanted to see business activity till that date.
I already had provided current appointment report with my application.

7. Any Additional Comments - My husband and baby came with me to the Appointment Centre but I was told that my husband cannot accompany me inside as he wasn’t required for the application. Despite requests as we had flown in from London (lack of appointments in Croydon), we were told that they were expecting a busy day and won’t have vacant seats. Thankfully the application process took just 2 hours and there was a quiet cafe just outside the application centre where he could wait for me.

Congrats anujkundarap on ur successful application! Just a quick question,could u pls specify for what period have u provided bank statements? Basically I’m in a similar situation, have pretty much all payslips covering last 2 years, including the time I was on maternity. I am planning to provide bank statements (1 month before maternity, 1 month after, when I returned to work) and last 6 months before application and have a question. Did u provide payslips and bank statements for the months u stayed on maternity as well?

Yes I had attached these both for the entire maternity period alongwith one month before and after maternity.

Apponintment was at 9.30am and we got there around 9.05am. We were staying in a hotel not far from Home office. As this was the first time we were going to Cardiff we decided to get there a day before, do a bit of sight-seeing and then return.

We have been to Solihull PSC before and it was good but we were quite impressed by Cardiff PSC. Staff was helpful and very nice. The waiting area was big (compared to Solihull) and enough space for kids to play.
There is ample Parking space as well just next to Home office (East Grove, pay and display).
Application and documents were taken around 9.30am. Biometrics about 10.00am. Got approval and all documents back 11.30am.

I would recommend anyone booking at Cardiff PSC to set off early as M4 gets very busy during peak hours specially the bit from Newport to Cardiff. This was one of the reason we got there a day before for peace of mind.

I submitted a paper based application form on the day of appointment.

I believe we have established our private life and built ties with the United Kingdom. So, I would also like to request the Secretary of state to exercise the policy of “best interest of a child” along with the rule regarding Discretionary Leave to Remain before making the decision.

In support of my application, please find enclosed documents.

This forum has been a huge help in filing my ILR application and I am happy to report that we got our ILR this month! Hence I thought I will share my experience here too.

I submitted my application (main applicant and dependent) using the online link.
Application type: SET(O) Tier 2 General, 5 years route.
We opted for the Premium service and it was worth it, didn't have the patience to wait for the results for months
Mode of application: Online (https://www.gov.uk/settle-in-the-uk/y/y ... neral-visa) - "How to apply" section.
Application Centre: Croydon

With the online form the form filling process was very quick. I found the hard copy version to be very confusing. And the caseworker who checked our application initially actually thanked me for using the online facility

So once you have filled in the online application form you will be asked to pay the fee and once you have done that you will be given the option to select an application centre. What I did is just took whichever centre had a date available and submitted the form. You have the option to change the centre as well as the date later.
Word of caution: Just make sure that you would be able to attend your appointment on the selected centre too, just in case your preferable centre does not become available (which I don't think would be a problem unless you are looking only few days in advance).
Like in my case Croydon showed that there were no appointments available for the next 45 days. But next day, around 8 am few slots became available. This was on a Monday. Rest of the days, according to my experience the slots open from 10 am to 1 pm mostly. The first slot I got was for 26th July and I was able to move it to 3rd July. So keep trying!

With the online form you will get 4 documents to print.

• Online Form - The entire form you filled

• Verification Checks Consent Form - You just need to sign on this form

• Biometric Enrolment Letter - For the caseworker

• Checklist - All the documents you have to produce on the day. Also has your appointment details.

I only submitted the documents which were required in my checklist along with a cover letter. The cover letter is not mandatory but since I had a few things to explain about my application I wrote one. I also provided a copy of all the documents, so I had two sets. This is important! The caseworker was delighted that I had a copy ready.

My Checklist documents were:

• The passport or travel document for dependent (old and new)

• Two passport photos for main applicant

• Two passport photos for dependent

• The passport issued for main applicant (old and new)

• Main Applicant’s Life in the UK Test pass notification

• Dependent's Life in the UK Test pass notification

• Evidence of cohabitation (up to a maximum of two years). - I just gave council tax bills for last 2 years

• Other evidence of main applicants's reasons for absences from the UK - Airline tickets (not sure if this was required because I also gave a letter in which my employer stated that all the workday holidays listed in the form were known to the company.)

• Other evidence of dependent's reasons for absences from the UK - Airline tickets (only for travels after 18 January 2018 - This is according to the changes for the dependent's form.)

• The official transcript or letter for main applicant to prove the level of English language required - I provided the medium certificate from my university in India

• The official transcript or letter for dependent to prove the level of English language required
  Evidence of main applicant's immigration status in the UK - Just a copy of the BRP card

• Your most recent payslip and your most recent bank/ building society statement. These must be dated no earlier than one calendar month before the date of the application. - Just one month's salary slip and one month's bank statement which was provided by the bank (signed along with a cover letter saying I have an account with them since the year **** and my current balance is *****).

• A document from the sponsor who issued the certificate of sponsorship that led to your last permission to stay as a Tier 2 migrant confirming that you are still required for the employment in question for the foreseeable future - Letter from the company who sponsored me

• NARIC letter that confirms the qualification meets or exceeds the recognised standard of a Bachelor's or Masters degree or PhD in the UK AND confirm the level of English to which the degree was taught or researched – Main applicant

• NARIC letter that confirms the qualification meets or exceeds the recognised standard of a Bachelor's or Masters degree or PhD in the UK AND confirm the level of English to which the degree was taught or researched - Dependent

• For the period before you were granted leave as a Tier 2 migrant, documents showing that you met the relevant requirements of the immigration rules. For further information concerning the evidence required, please refer to the Tier 2 migrant policy guidance on our website – Main applicant - Provided the Certificate of sponsorship and self assessment letter which was provided when I first got the sponsorship

• Current Biometric Residence Permit

Extra Documents (Provided for my piece of mind - not mandatory):
Absences sheet which calculated the number of days absent in these 5 years for main applicant as well as dependent.

NOTE:Depending upon what you fill in the online form, your checklist might change.

My case was pretty straightforward and I was not asked any questions on the appointment day regarding my application. It was nerve wracking to be doing this without using a solicitor, but I can very well say now that you don't need one if your case is simple.

Oh and I mistakenly entered the date of departure as the date of arrival in the form for 5 instances.
Now you cannot change any information on the online form once you have submitted it. So I just explained this mistake in my cover letter. Thankfully all was fine.

Just have an query; when did you qualify for ilr and when did actually submit your online application? Did you file after qualifying period i.e. 28 days before the ending of 5 years? Kindly let me know the dates as i filed my online application along with booking of PSC appointment together on 30 June for 12 Aug but i qualify on 8 Aug (with 28 days inc.). Please advise. Thanks.

Date of application is the date of your in person appointment!!

I came to UK on 23 June 2013. So I completed my 5 years on 22 June 2018.
I submitted my online application on 11 June 2018 (I believe the 5 years is counted backwards from this date, but I could be wrong. I was well within the 28 days so I did not bother to check properly).
And I had my Premium appointment on 3rd July 2018.

I found name of solicitors removed by moderator in Holborn very helpful. I called them a couple of times for ILR related queries (again just for my peace of mind) and they were happy to answer small queries without any fees. I am in no way advocating for them, but I had a good experience with them so I thought I will share Hope this helped.

SUCCESSFUL DLR (LOTR) TO ILR PSC (RARE CASE)

11/2011 - Applied FLR (O) Article 8 and 3 (ground)
02/2012 - Refused and appealed to FTT

And , yes it arrived just now. in 2 working day.

After a 6 hour wait at Croydon, I finally got mine. Thanks to all the help from moderators in this forum

I wrote a cover letter but didn't end up submitting it.

Went in 10:15 am for 10:30 am appointment.
10:30 on the dot- queued up to get my ticket
12:00- Called for registration
12:25- Biometrics
12:50- It came under the screen that my application was being reviewed
4:15- 6 hours after entering, I was called in to tell me my application was successful and BRP will be sent in a few days.

Very long day but happy that's over with. My advice would be to bring a spare phone charger, and a few snacks as it could be a long wait. Someone was there just to replace his BRP and was there for 5 hours.
