My humble contribution to this forum.

Application type: Paper based Set(O)(July 2018 version)
Route: Tier 2 General (5 years)
Number of dependants: 1
PEO branch - Liverpool

I dont remember the exact timings but the centre was not very busy so we submitted our documents immediately after comming in, then attended biometrics room after around 20 minutes and our application was decided in about 1 hour 40 minutes.

I used Liverpool PEO before and my experience was always excellent. I would strongly recommend this PEO for everyone, worth every penny. And Liverpool itself is an amazing city to explore!

The process was buttery smooth. No questions asked, everyone were very polite and supportive.

Documents submitted

Main applicant:

1. PEO booking and payment confirmation
2. Passport
3. BRP
4. 2 photographs with my name on the back
5. Life in the UK test
6. UK degree certificate (just degree, no transcript required)
7. 2 months electronic payslips printed in Lloyds and stamped by them
8. Letter from employer confirming my role, start date, number of working hours, salary, soc, normal working days, holliday allowance. The letter also included all my UK absences (date left, date returned, destination, country of visit, number of days) and that they need me in foreseeable future.
9. Letter from employer confirming my electronic payslips are genuine and signature on each payslip. 2 last payslips were enclosed tho the letter.

Dependant:

1. Old and new passports
2. BRP
3. 2 photographs with her name written on the back
4. Life in the UK test
5. IELTS Life Skills B1 test
6. Marriage certificate with translation
7. Proof of cohabitation: tenancy agreements, council tax letters, utility bills, mobile phone bills, payslips.

+ photocopies of all documents

Still can't believe its all over. I was so nervous and stressful about this!! God bless the Queen and this amazing country!

I am ever so thankful for this forum for the great and prompt advice that I received. We applied for SET(LR) 10-year route at Croydon PEO last week. My husband and I applied in appointments on different days.

Type: SET (LR) - 10 years long residency

I was a Tier 2 dependant and submitted,
Full Application form
Passports
BRP
LITUK certificate
UK degree certificate
Marriage certificate
Cohabitation documents for 2 years

And my husband who was the Tier 2 holder submitted,
Full application
Passports
BRP
Life in the UK certificate
UK degree certificate
Payslips/P60 (To prove working for the same employer at the time of application)

Prior to the Tier 2 visa, we held Tier 4 visas.

Everything was fairly straightforward. Did not submit cover letters. Our appointments were at 9 o' clock and received approval around 11:30. If your case is straightforward please do not waste money on solicitors. Make sure you fill in the most recent application form. All the very best to everyone! And Thanks very much again to this forum.

Got my ILR application approved on 8th October 2018. I booked my appointment at Sheffield PEO. It was difficult initially to find a booking anywhere but sometime towards the end of August, I kept trying for 2-3 consecutive days and managed to find booking slots in Sheffield and Glasgow. As i live in Cambridge, I preferred Sheffield.

Arrived at the centre: 0840 (for 0910 booking)
Went through the security, in the waiting lounge: 0850
Called for my token: 0900
Regstration: 0930
Biometrics: 0950
Called for decision: 1030

Staff was quite friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere.

I only provided the documents that were necessary:

1. All previous passports (that I used during my time in UK)
2. BRP
3. 2 x photos
4. Letter from employer confirming SOC code, salary details, and that I am still needed
5. Another letter from my employer confirming all my absences from UK (I have only been with 1 employer in the last 5 years)
6. Payslips
7. 3 month bank statement
8. Life in the UK certificate
9. UK Education degree certificate (proof of English language)

Photocopies of all of the above (except ofcourse photographs). It can help speed-up the process. I also had my P60s with me but they were not needed.

Good experience overall and very relieved. Thanks to this forum, I did not need to hire a solicitor to help me with my case as it was reasonably straightforward.

Good luck everyone.

Application type: Set(o), Tier 2 (5 years)
PEO branch - Croydon
Arrived at centre- 9:35am
Appointment time- 10:10am
Token Received- 10:08am
Documents Submitted- 10:20am
Biometrics done- 10:45-11:00am-ish
Case under consideration from- sometime after 11am (kind of is a blur)
Called for collection- 15:30pm-ish

As an FYI, my initial visa was valid from 17-11-2013 and I entered the UK on 18-11-2013. I also had a 45 day-ish employment gap in 2015 when I lost my job.

Documents submitted:
- 2 x passports (current and expired. My expired passport also had my Tier 5 YMS in it)
- Set O application
- 2 x visa photos
- 3 months payslips from current employer
- 3 months printed in-branch and stamped by branch (each page) bank statements (FYI this was from Llyods...they can be jerks about stamping but the King's X branch does no problem)
- letter from current employer authenticating my payslips as they are electronic
- chart outlining all absences, reasons - I detailed where I was with employer 1 and where I was with employer 2; no absences more than 30 day per residence year (or calendar year for that matter!!). I also tabled absences in "residence year"
- 1st employer letter of why they COULDN'T provide a letter of absences for me
- cover letter from myself to cover 1st employer just in case as I was borderline
- payslips from 1st employer to prove I was paid accordingly anyways
- letter saying I am needed for the foreseeable future from current employer, SOC code, salary, etc.
- hand written cover letter from THIS MORNING when I realized that current employer forgot to also mention that I will continue on my same salary (found last night in the immigration rules but not located on the Set O application form)
- cover letter for when I went home in July on compassionate leave due to a death in the family (was only gone a week and was paid accordingly but the form asked for a cover letter if gone on compassionate leave so I provided)
- letter from current employer for UK absences

I submitted more than needed as I was right on the "edge" of some of the requirements. I also had additional docs with me such as work contracts, bank statements covering 1st employer, UK Masters Degree (I am from Canada but had it just in case as I did a PT DL Masters degree over the last 2.5 years). This is my 4th UK visa and it was by far the most stressful of them all...especially when I was panicking this morning over the foreseeable future salary element...

If you don't hear anything from UKVI, then it's good news. If docs are missing, UKVI will let you email them and they provide you with a slip with email contact details and how you can submit.

Oh yes and I forgot the all-important LITUK test pass letter was also submitted as well as booking confirmation docs. Overall, never want to do that process again but it did have a good ending at least!

Congrats! Re compassionate leave: was this in your employer's letter about absences too? Or did you provide your own cover letter for this only?
Thank you!! I was nearly in tears this morning on the foreseeable future element! My employer did have it written that I went on compassionate leave for 6 days and I have included this in my leaves of absences chart. My cover letter simply stated that it was with regards to my absence dates of (inserted dates) and that I left the UK on compassionate leave to attend my grandfather's funeral. I gave the date he died, the date of the funeral, where the funeral was held, that it wasn't counted as annual leave by my company but was paid for it which aligned to company policy (as it was July and I submitted 3 months worth of payslips this was covered). I also stated that I was not able to provide any death certificates as it is in possession of my grandmother who is still dealing with paperwork relating to his death (which is true) back in Canada. I did have a link to his obituary where I am named along with other family members if needed but it wasn't.

6. Letter from employer confirming the annual salary, continued employment, my SOC code, minimum SOC code pay and confirming absences (Business Trips & paid annual holidays) in the last 5 years and endorsing my payslips and P60s
7. Detailed daily breakdown of the absences spread sheet
8. Last 3 month Payslips and last 5 year P60 endorsed by the employer
9. Identical photographs with full name on the back, attached with Section 1 on the form
10. Biometric residence permit
11. Police Registration Certificate
12. Current Passport & second current passport

Absences more than 180 days in any of the qualifying years.
None, 320 days overall over 5 years (counted without entry-exit), 435 overall. Every single day (except bank holidays and weekends) has been marked at employer letter. I had one day of compassionate leave (which was fully paid), so I made short reference to the reason in cover letter and mentioned It was paid and I worked remotely on this day.

Any Additional Comments.

Visa start date 14/11/13, entrance 02/12/13, appointment 22/10/18. So I used both period between visa start and entering the UK and 28 days.
I have gone via paper application mostly due to it is unclear how to catch slot with e-application. With paper you can first catch slot and then do the paperwork... However I believe electronic would be better...
Caught slot by occasion at 1am monday when no slots were available, approximately 45 days before appointment, so sticked to it. I has been extremely in doubt if booking date is not too early but looks like date of PSC appointment is the date, so no worries.

Employer letter is all in one confirming everything required including absences. I found those 2 passages below nice and useful as template:

We can confirm that he is entitled to 30 days annual leave and is also required to travel extensively for business purposes. We can confirm that he has had no long absences outside the UK whilst in our employment.
Mr XXX is still required for employment and we know of no reason why his employment with us should not continue.

I have included P60s (which are not required) mostly due to employer template contains reference that those are true...

I had originals of my monthly Barclays statements coming by post (never certified or did anything with them, just submitted as is), however my Statement is on 14th while salary is on 15th, so last salary transaction is always not covered. So added on top of it self service machine print of latest transactions, also stamped by the bank (However printout of self service machine is quite smart now - it says certified copy, name of branch etc... well done, Barclays). I made a note of this on my cover letter.

Passports: I have 2 valid passports one of which is new, so I was asked on registration which one to use, no previous passports during 5 year period. Selected current one which holds all entry stamps. Suppose no difference...

I have created 3 versions of absence lists, neither of those has been certified, just signed and dated myself the last one:
  • Short version to go into 6.2 (58 rows)
  • Shortened version of short (without 10 first rows which I wrote into 6.2 of the application (ended up adding this and one above as extra pages in the application as writing was bit funny in the application)
  • Long itemised list of absences broken down by exit, entry day, weekend, bank holiday, vacation, business trip etc (4 pages, 233 rows) - added as additional supporting document
In 5.2 I have entered 50% of the rent as I am renting with the girlfriend. Made a note of it in cover letter.

On collection they returned just originals of payslips, bank statements, passports, trinity certificate and LIUK certificate and police certificate (cancelled). Other docs are retained - they probably loved them;)

Neither screens, nor payment by card in cafe worked today - kind of blind sitting there... And have some cash on you for the cafe

Overall time for the case consideration has been surprisingly long, as most of morning entrants disappeared by the time when I was called for collection.

Overall it has been positive.
Thanks again for all who contributed here.

We probably saw each other today and never realized it!!! Looks like we submitted nearly the same docs too (great minds think alike?) - I agree it was a lllooonngggg day, coupled with no card reader for food. Congrats on your approval!! I also have to say thank you to this board once again...it has never once steered me wrong in the last 7 years!!

Hello everyone,

Thank you for very useful information here. I am applying for ILR soon so a bit anxious to prepare for it. I can see some of you provide letter from employer for absences from the UK. I was absent from the UK but all of absences were for holiday/annual leave (not breaking the 180 days rule). Do I still need to request a letter from my employer for this?

Thank you.

Thank you Ahasnaini. Does the letter have to specify all periods of holidays or it just needs to say about my number of days for annual leave in general?

Letter needs to be specify each and every holiday separately, there is a template that can be found pinned on the top, you can use that.

Hello All
Here is my experience at Croydon PSC. As a follower
PSC: Croydon
Reached: 12.25
Appointment Time: 12.50
Ticket/Token Received: 12.40
Case Registration: 13:35
Biometric: 13:45
....after lonnnggg wait
Called for collection 17.50
They seemed to be very understaffed today. Even Tier-4 ext took similar time.

My case was a little Interesting as many people I am sure in same boat as I was. I had salary increase of 7K 4 months before ILR. And another one last year at similar time in 2016. I applied 26 days before 5 yrs on Tier -2. However, I moved to Tier2 fron PSW. Also I worked for the same company for 6 years since I left UNI. That may have played a role. GOD knows.
But surely every case can be different and also depends on case worker. Good luck all whos applying in coming days and months.
