Only if you had an appointment before they closed due to covid you are sent an email to book appointment. If you want to book now, there isnt any yet.

Priority visa processing service is a VISA SERVICE offered by UKVI. You choose this during application submission.

This is NOT related to the appointment booking services offered by UKVCAS or their operations.

Priority visa processing services are NOT offered by UKVI for now, possibly due to a large existing backlog of applications. You should continue with your application using the Standard service for now

If you already applied and you're looking to book your appointment with UKVCAS, note the following:

The slots are not still open to applicants who applied after the closure of centres. So you must remain patient. They are prioritising people who booked their appointments before lockdown but could not attend due to closures

Applied ILR T1 50k on 01st June 2020
Today at 01:10 received an email from HO that due to current pandemic the decision may take more than 6 months standards time. They did not ask me to email them the documents.

The email came through at 01:10. Are they working 24 hours or it’s system sending automatically ?

Did you receive any acknowledgment letter? Just wondering if home office is emailing to inform people that applications are taking longer than 6 months then how are you supposed to let your employer know that you have already submitted application so you can keep working under section 3C?

No, I haven’t received any acknowledgment letter. Just this email saying it may take longer than standard 6 months. The wording is “may take longer” it’s not it’ll take longer.

For continuation of Sec 3C, the employers can perform ECS and HO usually confirm a person’s right to work in 5 working days.

Senior members may put more light on it.

This forum is very helpful, and members should be thankful for seniors and moderators who are doing this excellent wok.

Hi thanks for the update

Do you know if this 6 months counts from the date you submit your application online or from the date you attend your biometrics appointment? This can make a huge difference as appointments can take months to book now!!

In normal circumstances it is counted from the date of submission of the application not from the biometrics submission date.

Right now it’s unpredictable. However the online system should be quicker.

HO cleverly made applicants to do the work which HO suppose to do i.e scanning all the paper work etc. like in old system.

In new system applicants do all the work for HO and made to pay for it. Clever isn’t ?

Despite all this, having everything in their plate, they are sending emails saying they are unable to decide within six months.

All we need is to wait. Because there is no other seller from where the applicants can buy the services. It’s one and only HO.

This is very strange that HO don’t sent any acknowledgment letters anymore. As far as I remember from last extension, my employer only accept acknowledgment letter and then confirm it with HO for right to work.
I hope employers are aware of this new change of Not acknowledgment letter’ and will use common sense to allow us keep working for them while application is still in pending.

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how this works. I have completed my ILR Set (M) application, however, I haven't submitted yet as I do not want to pick the standard service option and lose the chance of a super priority appointment should it become available before my visa expires.

Would it be possible to submit the application clicking standard and once the slots are available pay for a super priority slot? Or once you submit using the standard service you will remain on the 6 months route?

Many thanks for your help.

You are right.

The HO is aiming to go digital. In future they probably discontinue BRP plastic cards as well for all. At the moment most EU citizens only getting settled status through email but non EU citizens get ILR plastic card.

Just wondering , has any one who attended an appointment or already booked an appointment got an email from HO saying that processing may take more than 6 months?

I submitted my application on end of march and have an appointment booked on 16/6 and personally have not received any emails from HO up until now. So maybe these significant delays will apply more to those applying now or have applied after the lockdown?

Any news from applicants who already attended appointments with priority service? it's been more than a week now since UKVCAS partially opened?

I had my biometric appointment on 4th June with super priority service. But haven't heard anything from HO yet. No news at all.

Hi t2momdu,

Have you received any email lately asking for documents to be sent directly to HO. I personally have not despite the majority of people receiving that email which seemed to have helped speed up their decision.

My appointment is on 16/6 too (super priority) and I hope I do not get significant delays....

I have applied online for ILR today for me and my family (along with Life in the UK results that we took just last week after the centres opened).

I had considered waiting for the Priority service to open before submitting my application. However my visa expiry is on 17th June and the lawyers said there might be a chance to upgrade to Priority once they restart priorirty applicaitons. So went ahead and put the standard application today,

Has anyone else heard that we will be able to upgrade to Priority service from Standard service once this reopens? It'll be really difficult to not be able to travel for 6-odd months for work or family reasons if we get stuck in the Standard service times.

Hi, when did you apply online and book your appointment for 16/6? Was this before the lockdown?

Wondering how long it might take them to go through the current lot of appointments before opening up for new appointments.
