Hi YM1900
My application was submitted on 27th... but still nothing.

The email that you received from UKVCAS ... does it give you a special link that enables you to book an appointment ... or were you able to book your appointment by just logging into your UKVCAS account?

Thanks
Sorry can't help here as it was booked by fragomen all I have is booking confirmation from them. AFAIK they don't have any special access to the system.

Hi,

May I know how long the time limit we need to attend UKVCAS appointment for biometric and document verification?

I have submitted my ILR application (Tier 2 route) and my wife has submitted her Tier 2 extension. but, due to the covid-19, we do not expect to get an appointment anytime soon.

so, how many weeks maximum we have to attend the appointment?

hopefully, in this situation the home office will understand and will give us sometime to get the appointment.

cheers,

Hi All,

I just received an email to book an appointment now.

The email has a link which took me to the same website that we registered in before.

The only city with appointments available was Birmingham.

There were plenty of appointments, I even found one today at 17:00 but since I live in Bristol I didn't book it :-)

There was a charge for most of them but I managed to find free one next Wednesday.

Email subject was "UKVCAS - book your appointment now"

P.S. I registered on the website on 27th March

UKVI Guidance has been updated

If you’ve given your fingerprints before
If UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) can reuse the fingerprints you’ve already given, you’ll be emailed with instructions on how to send them an image of your face and your supporting documents.

This will mean you do not have to attend a UKVCAS or an SSC service point appointment to provide biometric information.

If you cannot send the information through the instructions given, you’ll be able to book an appointment.

MODS, that would mean most people applying for ILR will not need to go in for an appointment, correct?

someway to clear the backlog, but i am wondering if they will create a timescale of the previous biometrics. may be they will choose who ever has applied and gave their biometrics within the last 6 months or proabably 1 year !. maby be they might not invite applicants whose biometrics are older than an year . just speculating.

Thats great actually ! Guess we just have to keep watching / waiting for an email from UKVI in that case?

Good news about the fingerprint reuse, this will limit face-to-face interractions and lower covid risks too.

That is great news about the fingerprints, the one positive of this situation is that it has probably created a situation where they have reviewed processes and figured out how silly some of it is...

Hoping some of the fast track options open soon.

Not sure why not? they didn't mention ILR is exempted. A valid biometric is valid a biometric no?

Hi,

I have paid for Bio metric appointment. I got a mail from WandSContingencyCaseworkDocumentReturn@homeoffice.gov.uk to send them requested documents.

I have done so. Any one who has got the mail from WandSContingencyCaseworkDocumentReturn@homeoffice.gov.uk and have got any update on the next step please let me know. What is the home office planning? THey do have my bio metric from one and a half year back. Can they use that?
Finally Homeoffice adopted your idea. Have you received another email asking for your photo?

Hi All

Just an FYI. I applied online on 6 April 2020. UKVCAS Application Centres were closed.

I got an email this afternoon saying I can book an appointment now, and found an appointment for this Saturday (at £110 ). Can't believe they're charging so much for standard appointments given the current climate.

Couldn't book super priority (option removed when I applied) so going standard and hope they turn it around quickly like they're doing with some of the others.

I'm right in thinking that all my docs need to be valid up until application point (ie 6 April), and not up to point when I do biometrics?

Does this mean UKVI emails will be only sent to those who recieved email from WandSContingency team? Are those applicants already identified by UKVI then? as not everyone received emails from WandScontignency team!!

Don't know, All I know is W&S team stands for work and study so it makes sense they only deal with Tier 2 related ILR

It will be good who ever recieves email from UKVI also let us know if they had previously recieved email from WandScontingency team ! That will tell that UKVI already chose those who will get that email.

My finger prints were taken 5 years ago when applying for my Tier 2 visa. I hope they can recycle mine.

Hi
My wife applied for ILR on 27th March but she did not get any email from HO to send her documents or she couldn’t make her biometric appointment. What she can do ? Any reply will be appreciated. Thanks
