What did you decide standard or SP?
we agree with your view that you explained for the timeline so decided to go for standard.
However, one thing I noticed on the timeline thread, not many posts on Set O standard :?:
I understand this might be due to - 1) more ppl going for priority 2) ppl do not tend to respond when things going normal. so based on that hoping it wont take longer on standard.

If your husband does not have to travel in the following months, standard makes sense. But as I said, its your choice and money to make a decision.

Also, if you want to save some biometrics money and get lucky with an earlier appointment, worth trying:
Suggestion for booking biometrics appointments, might be helpful to new users:

You have 45 working days to book an appointment (excluding Sat/Sun) after online submission. These days biometrics appointments are running at a 28 days lag i.e. you get an appointment for the 28th day unless you get to find an earlier cancellation.

My suggestion:
1) Login UKVCAS booking system 12 AM midnight GMT (1am BST) to look for appointments.

2) Look for different centres and locations if you are willing to travel.

3) Look continuously for 3/4 days regularly (after submission and before booking a slot) to find an earlier cancellation or free appointments during the day/after midnight. For free appointments look especially between 6am-9am in the morning. Free options are offered by Core Centres only (week days).

4) If you fail and can not find any earlier cancellations or free appointments for next 3/4 days after submission, book one logging in at 12 AM midnight GMT. You will get one for the 28th day (has to be a week day for better availability). If the 28th day is a Sat/Sun, availability will be almost nil.

I would suggest you try your luck for 3/4 days before you book one. Once you book an appointment, you will not be able to see any more availability.

Hi
quick question on Cohabitation docs - do we have to add marriage certificate in the same doc with all the cohab letters or marriage certificate goes separate ?

also, due to marriage certificate made in standard format - me & my spouse names are [Name] [Father Name] [Surname] whereas in all the other docs (passports, BRPs, letters) our names are [Name] [Surname]. Is that ok or we should mention in the cover letter ?

THanks a lot again..

1) Separate.

2) No issue. No need to mention in CL.

Hi @Cullinan

Why do some people provide bank statement for sufficient balance when applying for ILR via 5 year tier 2 dependents ?

I am going with following documents: is it fine ?

Spouse:
Passport all pages
English Test
BRP
Marriage Certificate
Cohabitation Proofs
Consent/verification Letter

Child:
Passport all pages
Passport Old all pages
BRP
Consent/verification Letter

Let me know if you think anything is missing ?

THanks a lot

There is no income or maintenance requirement for ILR. Balance does not matter even if its nil. Bank statements maybe used for cohabitation documents if need be for address proof.

I am going with following documents: is it fine ?

Spouse:
Passport all pages Passport (s) covering 5 years qualifying period is enough
English Test
BRP
Marriage Certificate
Cohabitation Proofs
Consent/verification Letter
You must have input LIUK ref num in the online form

Child:
Passport all pages
Passport Old all pages
BRP
Consent/verification Letter

Let me know if you think anything is missing ?

Did the checklist not ask a copy of your ILR BRP copy? Add that also.

Rest all looks good

THanks a lot

Nope checklist doesn’t ask for my BRP. It only asks for my consent for verification checks (2 times in the checklist) but never asks for my BRP.

Its fine, your husband would have entered your details in the online form anyways. You can add your ILR BRP copy if you want with the documents.

Hi @Cullinan,

I have notes from you from the time of my application as below (removing the IDV related points):
1) Pay and submit via UKVI. Date of application is the date you pay and submit.
2) Press “book an appointment” on further actions page @UKVI.
3) System will reroute you to create an account on UKVCAS. Register on the same day.
4) Access code will be sent to your email. Usually it lands up in Junk folder.
5) Upload all documents as per your convenience. Sooner the better.
6) Sign out and sign in again.
7) You will see a submit button. Submit documents to UKVI. Note, you will only be able to submit once. However, you will be able to add more at your appointment.
9) Wait to book an appointment.

Q1: Is the process still same ?
Q2: Will we be able to book one appointment for both my husband and son?
Q3: While uploading documents on UKVCAS, do we have upload documents for both of them in one login ?

Thanks a lot for your continued help !

1) Yes minus (9) above.

2) Your husband and son will be in the same ACCOUNT (I am assuming you added your son in the same account as I explained before).

TWO appointment slots will be booked (1 for your husband and 1 for your son) but it will be done together via the same account. The UKVCAS booking system will show appointments together. It will be booked for same time and date but will generate TWO appointment slots (2 booking confirmation barcodes). The prices shown will be x2 also (if it shows £130 it will be £65 each). Read my previous message where I suggested to try/look for free appointments/early cancellations if you want to.

3) Yes same account and login. Upload your husband’s documents under his name and your son’s documents under his name. The system will show their individual names but in the same account and login.

Also see steps:
Steps to follow after completing the form online.
Depending on your category, you will fill the appropriate form online:

Step 1: Pay fee and submit application via UKVI ONLINE.

Tip: Date of application is the date you pay and submit online, biometrics date is irrelevant.

Step 2: After payment, you will reach “further actions page.” If you click on “book an appointment,” system will reroute you to create an account on UKVCAS where you can upload your documents and book an appointment.

Tip: You are sent an access code to set up an account on UKVCAS which usually lands up in Junk folder.

Step 3: Booking an appointment with UKVCAS.

You must book an appointment now. IDV is the past except T4. You get 45 working days after submission.

Tip: You are given a deadline to submit your biometrics on the further actions page. Since the backlog for biometrics has subsided, you should meet the deadline.

Step 4: Now you can submit your documents to UKVI via UKVCAS portal even before your biometrics. The option usually appears when you have uploaded all your documents, sign out and sign in again. The option can be found on the “document upload page” right at the bottom.

Note: Self-submission is OPTIONAL. If you want to benefit from the new feature, you must upload and self-submit up to 48hrs before the appointment. If you do NOT want to self-submit, you can upload ANYTIME before the appointment date and submit at the appointment itself. Self-submission is recommended as you may save some processing time - your documents are sent to UKVI even before biometrics in this case. You can self-submit only ONCE. But if you forget to upload any documents, you can always upload later on (after self-submission) and submit at the appointment then (you will not be able to self-submit again but can submit at appointment again - UKVCAS staff will do it for you).

Read “self-submit” “submit” “upload” separately.

Tip: The best approach would be to benefit from the new self-submit feature.

Step 5: Once the process as stated above is completed, you should wait for a decision.

I would recommend you to self-submit documents even before biometrics.

9) Wait to book an appointment.

Clarifying further. You do not have to wait to book an appointment now. You can do it straightaway after you pay and submit. However, you may want to try your luck for any earlier cancellations or free appointments as suggested in one of the previous messages.

Also note, UKVCAS/UKVI follow GMT not BST. So if you plan to pay and submit on 28th April 2021, do it earliest after 1AM BST (or 12AM GMT) not 12AM BST OR later time to get the date right.

Hi @Cullinan

We have submitted application today (standard) and uploaded documents at UVCAS at the same time.
I have 2 doubts please:
1) On documents upload, it asks for 2 things which for me is the same document:

Declaration signed by Mrs xxxxx to confirm consent for the Home Office to request verification checks,

Consent form for the Home Office to request verification checks on Mrs xxxxxx for joint accounts or third party support

Can you confirm these are same docs?
FYI from the 3 page verification doc I submitted first page with my husband's sign, second page (joint account) with my sign.
Do I need to give first page with my sign too ?

2) How do I know if my documents are submitted ? They are right now showing Uploaded.

THanks a lot!

No. Husband (applicant) signs Part 1, you will sign Part 2.

2) How do I know if my documents are submitted ? They are right now showing Uploaded.
Have you self-submitted? Follow my previous message how to self-submit. You will see a submit button. Once you self-submit, if you will open each category then, you will see “submitted” in front of each file name.
Note: Self-submission is OPTIONAL. If you want to benefit from the new feature, you must upload and self-submit up to 48hrs before the appointment. When is the biometrics appointment? I am hopeful they will get approval soon in 1-2 months after biometrics. Good luck.

Check different locations 1am and especially between 6am - 9am for free appointments. I would advise to keep checking till Saturday on regular intervals. You will still get one for Friday 28th May if you book on Saturday (i.e. the 28th day) anyways but may get lucky before that to find an earlier cancellation (paid) or free appointments. Weekend appointments are mostly paid/very less availability (anything past Sunday till 1AM BST Tuesday will show you weekend appointments 28 days in future).
But obviously suit yourself, its just a suggestion.

Urgent need to cancel and rebook Biometric appointment

Post by Cristina88 » Sat May 08, 2021 4:23 pm

Hi @Cullinan,

For some reason I have to cancel the currently booked biometric appointment. It was a free appointment but I have to cancel it for unavoidable reason. Will there be any issue with the application ? Will I be able to book the next appointment immediately after cancelling ?
anything to be careful of while cancelling and rebooking?

Thanks a lot

You can cancel and rebook. If it was a free appointment (in your case), no refund will be generated anyways. If it was a paid appointment, you can cancel up to 48hrs before the appointment to get a refund minus £10 admin charge.

You can cancel and rebook immediately. You will get appointments as per the availability free or paid. Note, as previously stated, normal biometrics appointments run at a 28 days lag unless you end up finding an earlier cancellation.
