Travel History

Post by cross_entropy » Sat Dec 09, 2023 3:15 pm

Hi,

For ILR (and possibly many other things) we're required to submit our travel history in and out of the UK. I'm confused in some cases. For example, if my plane is scheduled at 10 Dec 00:05 from London to somewhere, do I put 10 Dec as depart date from the UK, or do I put 5 Dec because I passed the border control & security 1-2 hours back when it was still 5 Dec.

Thanks

You should not worry about such details at all. UKVI does not strictly rely on your answers to make decisions, they rely on data on their systems. Your answers are often used as a guide for the caseworker. The UK does not have border checks on exit but all airlines are required to provide API (advance passenger information) to the UK border system as part of the digital exit checks introduced in 2015. So it is reasonable to say the date you left the UK is the date of your scheduled departure.
Advice is given based on my personal research and experience only. Do NOT contact me via private message for immigration advice
