Hello Cmosuk,

You previously advised that I could submit letters of support from family to show how I have established my private life in the UK. Could you give a couple of examples on what family members would write to support my application. Also would pictures with family support my ILR application.

Thanks.
You could have family and friends write a letter about you, your character, as well as how you integrate into your friends & families lives, such as:

Activities
Events
Social gathering
Support

It is important to remember from my point of view that they view you as of good character and sound of mind who is honest and trustworthy and as a family or friend they support you in this application for ILR.

I hope this helps somewhat.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

Hello.

I need some clarification question10.12, 10.13 and 10.14 on Set(O) Form.

10.12 - Have you had your fingerprints taken as part of a previous UK immigration application in the UK or abroad? - Does this question relate to when my last biometric was done in the UK?

10.13 Date your fingerprints were taken? - Do I need to provide the date when my last biometric was done?

10.14 Give details where your fingerprints were taken, including the town or city and country? - Do I need provide the address of where my last biometric was carried out?

Look forward to your positive response.

Dear Members,

Need help on answering question 4.1 to 4.5 on SET (O) form. I will be applying for ILR on the basis of completing 6 years of DLR visas in October 2018.

I know applicants are not required to take life in the UK test as well as English language test.

Please see questions below:

To qualify for indefinite leave to remain, all applicants aged 18-64 must meet a knowledge of
language and life in the UK requirement. The separate guidance notes to this form provide
details of where to find further information about this requirement.
4.1 Are you aged 18-64? Yes No

4.2 If your partner is applying with you, is he or she aged 18-64? Yes No

If you have answered yes to 4.1 and / or 4.2, continue below. If you answered no to 4.1 and 4.2,
or your partner is not applying with you, go to section 5.

4.3 Have you and/or your partner obtained the following to show that you have met the
knowledge of language and life in the UK requirement.
You Your partner
Life in the UK test pass
And one of:
• a speaking and listening qualification at level B1 or above
from the Secure English Language Test (SELT) list (go to
question 4.5 below)

OR
• an academic qualification deemed by UK NARIC to meet the
recognised standard of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or
PhD in the United Kingdom and:
˗˗UK NARIC has confirmed that the qualification was
taught or researched in English to the appropriate level
or
˗˗the qualification was taught or researched in the UK
or a majority English speaking country (other than
Canada)
OR
• you are a national of a majority English speaking country

4.4 If you and/or your partner have not obtained one of the relevant qualifications, are you
claiming exemption from this requirement because a physical or other condition prevents you
from taking the Life in the UK test or doing a speaking and listening qualification in English?
You Your partner
Yes No Yes No
If you and/or your partner are claiming exemption, you must provide a doctor’s letter or similar
evidence confirming that you and/or your partner are unable to take the test or obtain a speaking
and listening qualification. An exemption will only be agreed exceptionally. If you have answered
yes to this question go to section 5.

4.5 Please provide details of your English language test:
Tick to confirm which body awarded your test:
IELTS SELT Consortium
Trinity College London
Provide the SELT unique electronic reference number provided by the awarding body:

In section 3, where it asks you to briefly explain on whaut basis are you applying for ILR, at the bottom I believe you should write exempt from language requirements.

You should have also included a covering letter as well to explain that as you are applying for ILR based on 6 years DLR, you are exempt from it, therefore you don't need to fill out section 4.

Dear Team members,

A brief history about me. I entered the UK on spouse visa in 2008. Marriage broke down in 2010. First set of DLR issued in October 2012 to October 2015 after winning private life appeal in upper tribunal in February 2012. Second set of DLR from February 2016 - February 2019.

Need help on answering question 6.1 on SET (O) FORM.

6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date you entered the
UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.

Thanks.

October 2012, as your period of stay in the UK began when your visa category from spouse visa changed to DLR.

Dear Team Members,

I am looking to go for PEO appointments in October 2018. This is based on that fact that I am completing 6 years of DLR from October 2012 to October 2018.

I need some clarification. Please see questions below:

- When is the earliest I can book an appointment?
- Do I need submit the completed application form, passport, BRP and all related documents for the
application on the day of appointment?
- What happens if they require further documents and I do not have them at the appointment?
- Will I need to pay another £610.00 for another appointment to submit further documents?
- What if in the first appointment, I am asked for further documents and do not have them on me at that
very moment, will they return back my passport, BRP card, application form and related documents to me
at the appointment?

Thank you.

you can book up to 45-42 days advance, but you must ensure it is within 28 days of your qualifying period.
- Do I need submit the completed application form, passport, BRP and all related documents for the
application on the day of appointment?
yes, you will be asked to after your security clearance on the day of your appointment.
- What happens if they require further documents and I do not have them at the appointment?thry will assess the application based on the documents submitted to come to a decision, if they feel they need more checks done, they will defer your application and notify you that they have done so.
- Will I need to pay another £610.00 for another appointment to submit further documents?
see above l
- What if in the first appointment, I am asked for further documents and do not have them on me at that

I think they will maybe try to reach a decision, they may ask for further documentation and give you time but again, if you feel that your application is complex it is better to submit by post than appointment.
at the appointment?

Thanks Cmosuk for prompt reply.

The reason why I asked all those questions in previous thread is because I am looking to travel in November and return back early December and I want to make sure that my passport and current BRP is returned back to me incase I am asked to submit further documents to support my application.

Would you know how long they would give to submit further documents for them to make a decision?

I was thinking that in case i am asked to submit further documents in October , then i can submit those documents after i return back from holiday in early December? Is this possible?

Thank you.

Hi,

Again, if you do go for the one day appointment, they may ask you on the day if you do have additional documentation, it could be they don't ask you anything at all and decide on the application based on the documents submitted.

In stating that, if you are asked to submit documents in October, my assumption is, they may only give you at the most 28 days to do so, I don't believe you would be able to travel anywhere anyway as they will retain your passport and BRP card until a decision is made.

Again, from memory, there was one user on this forum that did have this happen to them on their PSC appointment, there application was deferred and they had to submit an additional document within 7 days, I believe they where asked if they had this document on the day of their appointment, which they did not, hence why it was deferred.

Again as you where granted DLR and are under the transitional arrangements, the requirements aren't as stringent as they are for other routes to ILR. For example, financial (although they may look for maintenance), language exemptions and the fact under the old DLR you had recourse to public funds.

If the circumstances prevailing at the time of the 2 x DLR grants still exist and continues to do so, and provided criminality thresholds do not apply, I believe you shouldn't be refused for your ILR application, again this is only one factor in their decision making.

If i recall there was a member with the least amount of documents submitted out of all the members that I have seen and they where granted DLR you may have to look up in one of the links I have posted that show the users that submitted documents for their application of ILR based on 6 years DLR.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

Why do believe you need "witness statements" and "family photos" ??

You also don't need your previous DLR grant letters or tribunal decision letter. HO have your immigration history on their system.

Hello CR001,

Thank for your reply.

I believe that witness statements from family members are required to support my application as each family member can write a letter about me , my character, as well as how I have integrated into their lives, such as:

Activities
Events
Social gathering
Support

To bond proof the above, family photos will strengthen the application.

I know that Home office already do hold copies of the 1st and 2nd grant letters for discretionary leave and decision from upper tribunal, however I would rather take them to PEO appointment for peace of mind.

Please let me have your views.

You won't need family photos in my opinion, but again the one thing I have noticed you have not included is a covering letter from your list of documents I think.

Again, DLR grant letters l, it may not be required as CR001 is right in stating that UKVi/H. O will already have your immigration history, then again there isn't any harm in including it either.

I do believe the covering letter is important to maintain the reasons prevailing at time of grant of DLR continues to do so.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

If i make any mistakes, You are more than welcome to correct me.

Hello cmosuk.

I forgot to mention covering letter in my list. That is important and will include it with the application. However could you confirm if rest of the documents on my list is ok including witness statements from family.
Please let me know if I am missing any documents from my list?

Thanks
