Indian Passport Renewal and married name change from India

Hi, My wife and I are traveling to India and have been planning to get my wife's last name changed to mine on the Indian passport. She is currently on a Tier 2 ICT and the BRP has her maiden name.

I just want to confirm, whether we should get the passport renewed from India or from here. If we get her last name changed from India on the passport, will she face issues entering UK with her BRP and the new passport?

I believe, she will get her old canceled passport back as well, so we can carry that along with marriage certificate. Has anyone tried this?
