Indian Passport Renewal - By Post - Need Info

Hi Guys,

If applying Indian Passport for renewal by Post - can you please confrim if the documents mentioned below are suffiecient.

1. 4 photos
2. Crossed Postal Order of 29£ in favour of HCIL, UK
3. Current passport and copies on First page, last page and Visa page
4. Marriage Certificate photo copy
5. Completed Application form
6. Self addressed envelope with post duty paid stamp on it

Also could you please let me know If I need to post the original Marriage Certificate as well to update spouse name..?

If any one of you had applied earlier, can I know how many days did it take to receive the New Passport (Which is better - In Person or Post)

You need to send special delivery prepaid envelope for return of documents.
You need to send original Marriage Certificate to add spouse name in your passport.
Do note that adding spouse name in your passport is not mandatory.

No exp. of postal, but applying in personal takes about 2 weeks.
