Informing Sponsor of Leaving?

Post by capricornianz » Sat May 07, 2011 10:57 am

I am on T4 (student) and currently in the process of switching to T1 (General).

Is it mandatory for me to inform my college of my intention to switch?

Unfortunately, you cannot switch from Tier 4 to Tier 1 (General) any more.

Vinny, I do understand that part, but I already have applied before April 6th and was wondering if anyone know of any such condition where I was to inform my college that I was switching to T1G mid-course.

Yes, you should. Tier 4 sponsor is required to inform UKBA when a Tier 4 migrant no longer requires sponsorship (e.g. - because of changing categories, as in your case).

Probably not, until you succeed in switching or if you fail with your leave being curtailed. At the moment, your status hasn't changed.
