Interview in cambridge

Post by vikash99 » Thu May 01, 2014 9:19 pm

Dear,

I am currently doing my PhD in Berlin, Germany. I am invited for an interview to Cambridge for a post. I am originally from India and have a student visa for Germany.
I have my interview on 14th May, 2014. Please kindly suggest me urgently, what kind of visa do I have to apply and will it be processed in time so as I can attend my interview.

Looking forward for your earliest reply.

cheers :-)

Apply for visit visa but there's no way you'll get it by the 14th....

But if you do by some miracle of God don't carry any CV's or job related paraphernalia with you because if you are questioned at immigration they'll assume the worst...

Thanks for the reply.

Even if I apply from Berlin, there is no chance?
Should I carry the interview invitation letter to the immigration?

You can try - I expect there'll be an expensive number to call to arrange an appointment then you go, then a wait, then go again to collect your docs not knowing if it's a yes or no, sure it will be a yes, but time is the issue. Can't see UKVI doing anything productive in two weeks...

I wouldn't carry anything that might make you seem like your not a 'genuine visitor'.
