invitation letter

HI, i hope this is the correct place to post a message like this, otherwise i sorry!

I am currently trying to invite a good friend of mine from Ghana to the UK and am having problems with the invitation letter. I have all the documents i need, its just the wording of the letter i not sure off.

For a start, do i adress it to the friend i am inviting or to the immigration officer??

when i wanted to invite friends over from india i got a sponsorship letter attested by a legal agency (took 5 or 10 pounds)

i invited a friend from the US(indian passport holder), and i just sent him a letter
