Hi kingdom Man

***** Updated *****

I called the inis today and was told that my application has been processed and there is no decision on it yet but it's a good sign and I will hear from them as soon as they will have a decision. So I asked her how long she said it could be a couple of months! Like why would it be a couple of months just to make a decision on an application that has been with them over 19 months ???? And what did she mean by couples of months do you know ????
I would love to hear you answer on this ??? How long is a couple of months 6 or more is that it ????

Thanks
Couple of months means more than a month, that is; two months. In your case, it could mean 2 - 3 months from now. You should look towards January 2016 for an approval hopefully.

No acknowledgement letter, you only get your invitation letter to the ceremony and that should happen let's say in about two weeks from now.

Just quick question - what kind of docs I need to send with money? I don't have any gnib card, and second thing is travel document, but they said don't send ur original passport. Bit confused...

You only send documents applicable to you and in your own case you only need to send the fee of €950. International travel document is applicable to applicants with refugee status so you don't have to send any travel document. Send the fee ASAP so you can be extended an invitation for the December ceremony. Cheers!

You've called the INIS and heard it straight from the horse's mouth so there's not much to add here. If you have lived within state rules and limits of the law through your residency in the state, then, you can be rest assured to have your application approved within the next 2 - 3 months from now.

Yes! All applicants go through same routine procedure of the Garda vetting in order to ascertain if one has been of good character and no traffic or criminal convictions, penalties or fines. Once your file returns from such vetting and you come clean, another team in the INIS will prepare a submission on your application recommending you to the Minister of Justice for an approval. At that stage the minister would then in her absolute discretion decide to grant you a certificate of naturalization or otherwise.

Hi KingdomMan

Do you have any idea how long does it tak, APPROXIMATELY, for a decision to be made after submission to the minister?
Of course given that everything is clean & no convictions or anything against the law.

Thanks & kind regards

Signed up on the forum to share my timeline,

Applied (5 years residence): 31/07/2015
1st Acknowledgment: 9/08/2015
2nd Stage: 16/09/2015 (dated, not sure when received as was away)
Approval: Pending

Emailed the office today and was told that my application still hasn't been submitted to the Minister, hence I won't make it for 14th Dec.

BTW my colleague who has received 2nd Stage letter on the 10/09/2015 has received his approval last week, so I think I have just missed it... Bad luck :(.

From further enquiring I understand that either the Garda or other report hasn't been received yet, or has been received but not in time for the previous batch for submission to the Minister.

I have a question though. I hope my application is approved some time in Jan 2016, and then I'll need to send GNIB card and fee. But my GNIB card is valid till 26th February and I feel its unlikely there'll be a ceremony before March - though to renew GNIB card I'll likely need my old one. How do I go about that? Is it going to cause any trouble?

Once you're lucky to get your approval in January and you send your fee and GNIB, then your done with renewals as you won't be required to renew while waiting for the ceremony where you'll finally receive your certificate of naturalization. I pray and hope it happens for you as projected.

Is that my wrong impression or does this wave of approvals seems to be rather "short" compared to the previous ones before the big ceremonies?

It does sort of seem that way. Though, maybe it's partly because there were quite a few people who got approvals before the October ceremony, but were not invited to attend that ceremony? Other than that, I'm not too sure..there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to how things get done LOL.

Timeline for my application:
Application on basis of civil partner of Irish citizen(Female)
Applied on 22/04/2015 and received acknowledement on 26/05/2015.
Received Letter asking documents 23/06/2015.
Asking for more Documents Letter received on 14/08/2015.
First stage complete and now in Second stage received letter on 04/09/2015.
Approval arrived on 02/11/2015.
They need three things from me.
1- Euro 950
2- GNIB card
3- Travel Document(which is not applicable in my case)
I'm wondering does anyone else get same kind of letter asking you to send above three things to below funny address without passport size photographs:
F.S.P SA, Citizenship Section, Rosanna Road Tipperary Town.
Can someone shed light on my issue.
Thanks.
