@all
any new update.... Its been a while that my application is also with the minister.. I saw that bluemoon`s husbands got approval. Hence I can start thinking positive for my application too.

@banana07
mate I talked to the lady in inis department on 30 December and got the reply that they require few weeks to get the decisions from the minister.. I am not sure what few weeks interpretation can be in Ireland (e.g., can be think of as 2-3 months). my file is with the minister since November.... only ALLAH knows when I am going to get any decision...

Best of luck to all who are still waiting....

Guys,

I have a question following today's posts that happymama got approval.

Are the approvals sent in batches?

I applied mid Sep, and had no further requests from INIS until getting my 2 acknowledgement in Mid Oct
So I basically received my 2 ack 2 weeks after happymama hubbie did :-)

Does this mean that me, saad and all those who got 2 ack in oct should expect our approvals in the coming days? are these things not sent in batch after getting the answers from the minister?

Thanks!
Johnnieboy

maybe send them an email and see where your application at.. an ex-coworker applied 3 weeks before me and they replied to him today saying: waiting for garda reports.. that was early august when he applied!

its really hard to guess on those lazy bastards

I was following the conversations here to get an idea when to expect my approval and today I got mine.

Application Basis: 5 years residency (EU citizen)
Application Date: around 15th August 2014
1st Acknowledgment Date: 22nd August 2014
2nd Acknowledgment Date: 16th September 2014
Letter of approval Date: dated 19/01, received 21/01/2015
Documents submitted Date:
Invitation letter Date:
Ceremony Date:

I'm not in a hurry to send €950 and 2 photos this month since I would only get a date for a ceremony around March / April.

Rang Citizenship office today and the lady I spoke with said that my application is still at the same stage " Awaiting Garda report" and she said that there could be an issue with my report maybe missing in transit and usually what they do is to request it again so I should be patient and that she will flag it with her supervisor to look into it. I asked if I call back anytime soon to check the progress and she said there is no need to call because if there is any issue they will get in touch with me but because it's taking too long since my application submission date in June last year that if everything comes back okay in the Garda report that it will go straight to the minister for approval. This is really strange, I don't understand how I can still be waiting for Garda report since August last year. Sending emails to them doesn't help either because I keep getting the usual copy and paste messages everytime that my application is currently being processed with a view to establishing whether it meets the statutory conditions for the granting of naturalisation, such as good character and lawful residence, and will be submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.
Any idea guys on what is going on here? applied since the 17th of June 2014.

either they are suspicious of your type of application (in case married to irish) or in one of your documents and delaying until they can ask you for and update within a period that can be safe enough for them to catch you.. however there are chances they either lose your application papers or got forgot somewhere.. the best way to formally follow up is to send them a letter asking for an update and wonder why it crossed the 6 months rather than the automated reply they send to everybody send emails to them!

@banana07,

You are right about my application, I recently received a letter from the EU treaty rights review unit that my application for retention of residency is in it's final stage of processing and that a decision will be made shortly, who knows maybe that's what the citizenship division is waiting for before making any progress on my application. I have sent the citizenship division an official letter this morning to request an update on my application and why it's taking such a long time, so far 8months which is beyond the 6 months processing time frame. I hope to get an update soon because my current GNIB expires in April 2015.

Congratulations to everyone taking part in today's ceremony and good luck to the rest of us still waiting, I will quote what the lady said to me on the phone when I rang yesterday " This is your year" but I pray it happens sooner rather than later for us all.

I am also thinking about writing them a letter rather than email. What address should I post it to?
