This application was rejected. The summary of the case (which was very substantial, about 20 pages of text and documents in addition to the actual application form) was summarised into a few paragraphs by the department staff, who actively recommended that the Minister decline the application. It was pretty brutal - they omitted or summarised very briefly all the positive aspects of my application, including the identity and (prominent) positions of the Irish Citizens who wrote supporting letters. Then they highlighted specific weaknesses and presented them as compelling reasons to reject the application.
