2022 Naturalisation Application response

I saw on the 2022 Applications site that someone posted below, so it seems 2022 queue would be moving now:

Application Based On: 5 year Non-EU Stamp 1(CSEP) for 2 Years and Stamp 4 for 3 years
Applied Date: 07/01/2022
Application received Date: 11/01/2022
Acknowledgement Date: 28/06/2022
Second Letter (E-vetting): 15th March 2023

I myself applied at the end of '21 (so my application might be treated as '22), got eVetting (just letter, not email). About time to send them to hopefully make decision in time for June.

Looks like some TD's must be getting complaints from constituents fed up with the disgraceful mismanagement by the Department!

Well, I see Minister had clearly lied that applications are processed in chronological order.
I have seen at least 4 post on a Facebook group and one I know personally who applied in April 2022 had got their citizenship certificate in Dec..

Well, it's not the first nor the last time any minister will not be honest and won't give straight answer to the questions like that. It was the same when Helen McEntee was the minister also. She said (back then) the process is being digitalized by offering online payments (duh) and online eVetting.

About things being done chronological order, some applications took longer, either the application is being complex or the case worker is taking things slow.

I applied in November 2021, made payment in December 2022 and joined the ceremony in March 2023. And at the moment there are still some Oct/Nov 2021 applicants that didn't even get the eVetting.

Till you get the citizenship, no one will give direct answer to your question, not the department, not the minister, not any TD. They will just say it's processing and to hold on tight.

Apart from waiting and checking your post box, there isn't anything else you can do unfortunately. You can start threatening or actually get JR action if the processing time in your letter exceeded. For some people this is 23 months and for some it was 19.

For someone waiting for 23 months would most likely be be spending 600 -900 euro extra just to renew IRP cards just so his/her permission doesn't go out. All seems like a money making business. If someone has applied for citizenship they should automatically get a free renewal. Least that a department could do.

Even though immigration and naturalization are different processes, the idea itself is interesting.
I'd say though there are a bunch of scenarios covered: LTR for work permit holders (and spouses), EU3 for EU spouses and Irish nationals renew their IRP for free.

All countries, Ireland, other EU and non-EU countries, treats immigration as money making business. Eventually they all earn money from the permits, citizenship fees and the taxes all of us pay. It's even better if immigrants stay here but do not apply/can't be a citizen as otherwise they become burden on the state when you become a citizen of the country.

So there are some EU countries, actually prefer people to come to their countries but leave or go back to their origin country before they get eligible for the citizenship.

In the end every single country cares about the monetary income from this process. If there is 5000 people naturalized in a ceremony it means 5000 * 950 = total amount that government will earn.

Even it's funny when INIS mentions us as "customers" in their announcements.

He refused to even answer the bit about the e-vetting. Something very fishy going on! Wouldn't be surprised if INIS has been asked to meet some KPI's and are then going to say that a certain percentage has reached an advanced stage by pointing to e-vetting! It is an utter disgrace that the processing times have not improved at all. All these new electronic things and extra staff (nk doubt at significant cost to taxpayers!) and nothing to show for it! Has anyone seen this "Tara e-bot" he keeps referring to. Seems like he doesn't know what is happening in INIS and doesn't frankly seem to care! People need to get this disgrace into the media!

It looks pretty quiet in terms of e-vetting for applicants in 2022, on Facebook and on this website.

I think, they busy with sending certificates now for March ceremony

June ceremony is soon enough, they should be making drastic action to rack up approvals for this.

They are sending out Acknowledgment letters and doing e-vetting in the space of a couple of weeks for 2023 applicants. Outrageous. Makes a mockery of the Minister saying "applications are processed in chronological order". I would contact your TD and get them to ask the Minister in the Dáil WTF is going on? Something very fishy going on!

The Minister keeps saying they have spent all this money and made all these improvements in INIS, yet the processing time hasn't changed at all in the last three years based on the Minister's own figures. Wouldn't surprise me at all if INIS is trying something sneaky. Maybe they have to report back about the numbers just requiring Ministerial approval (which is all that is required once e-vetting done). Process all the 2023 ones to that stage in a couple of weeks, and then it is easy to inflate the figures and make it look much better than the utterly disgraceful situation that currently exists! Someone remind me why we pay some of the highest taxes in the EU - surely it can't be to get such atrocious services from our "public servants"!

Hi...can see people from feb 2022 started getting garda vetting letters...are there people from Jan 2022 still waiting for the Garda vetting letters ? NOt sure how it is working ...

INIS or IDS are out of control. They are processing Jan and Feb and March 2023 to e-vetting! Something fishy going on! You should contact your local TD and get them to ask the Minister directly what the hell is going on. We pay outrageous First World taxes in this country and get Third World public services!

Posted in January 2022. No e-vetting yet. If there's no sign of e-vetting by June, I might consider an FOI to see what has been done onto my application

Not everyone who applied in Feb, My wife applied in 2nd week of feb 2022 and she hasn’t received any letter yet.

Please do let me know how it goes...may have to consider the same...if they need any more information then should have received the letter by now...from the situation...I doubt I may get anything before Jun 2023 ceremony..

I have no hope to be included in June ceremony. So I'm hoping to be included in Dec ceremony, hopefully. If there's no decision by then, JR route for sure.

I heard that if we have travel history where we stayed more than 6 months in any country other than the native one then they wait for the clearance from all those countries and that may add to the time for next steps...in mycase I have stayed in US for almost 5 years...just hopeing that this could be the reason for delay...fingers crossed...
