90 days about to expire while waiting for temp 4 stamp

Hi experts,

Can you please help?
We sent the EUTR application for my husband about a week ago and just learned that it takes about 8 weeks before we will be able to get his temp 4 stamp.
He is from a visa free country so got 90 days on arrival stamp, which will expire in a week.
Will the guards issue another 90 days if we go to the local Garda station?
We are also leaving Ireland for a few days after the 90 days expire.
Any advice is highly appreciated!

Hi Ironwoman, we have just had a confirmation back from INIS that states that because my partner, a Canadian citizen, has an appropriate application pending and that she can overstay her 90 day holiday visa without any problems. In fact she can stay until there is a decision made on her application. She has applied for a Stamp Zero visa.
I could send you a copy of the confirmation if it would help.

Hi again, we were told be airport immigration to just carry a copy of your visa application and any other correspondence with INIS with you when you are travelling and there should be no problem when you return.
I so wish we had all this info when we started all this last October.
