When are you travelling. The only issue is that certificate cannot be issued after 31st May. You will have to attend the ceremony after that unless current arrangement is extended

I should be back in the country on 15th April. Then I will post it immediately when I return. I believe I still have 6 weeks as indicated.

Hi - We sent the signed declaration along with the requested info to the citizenship dept 6 weeks ago but haven't received the naturalization certificate yet. We will probably check in with the department next week as they advised that it could take up to 6 weeks to get the certificate. But I was just wondering if anyone else has waited that long since submitting their declaration?
Certificate arrived in the mail today!! It took about 7 weeks since submitting the declaration and other docs. We had emailed them this week and they responded saying that we should receive the certificate in the next few days. All the best to everyone else waiting!

Hi guys! I recieved my affidavit in the post today. However, in my excitement, I made an error in filling in my name (used lower case instead of upper and then tried to fix it)
Now I'm worried that might cause some issues if I send it like that. Would you suggest requesting another affidavit? I've already emailed them but I'm itching to send it off asap 🙃

ICongrats, I don't think it will cause any problem, probably it will be just like wearing an ugly clothes, it looks like you do not have a time line would you mind if you can tell us when did you apply and when did you receive approval?

Is there anybody here waiting for more than 8 weeks to get the certificate? :| I had send the declaration end of Jan 2021, e-mailed them twice with no reply.

Received my approval in Jan 2020.

Has any of you who have received your naturalisation certificate tried to apply for a first-time passport? Not sure if the passport office is processing them. A bit hesitant to apply if they'll just hold my documents until restrictions are lifted.

First-time passport applications are not allowed under Level 5 restrictions.
Not even if someone has a family emergency according to a poster a few days ago.

"The Department expects to continue the current statutory declaration process beyond March and is aiming to have communicated with “an additional 2,500 applicants in the system by the end of June”.
By June, all applicants that were recorded as having been in the system for 24 months, as of 30 December 2020, will have been contacted by the Department."

Any certificates actually being sent out? Approvals are great, but it seems the final step isn't happening.

So finally they replied me back after sending multiple emails to say that they haven't received my payment yet :!: I had send the bank draft back in Feb 2020 and they acknowledged the receipt of it that time. This department is a mess. I'm waiting here everyday hoping to get the certificate and now this ! Really frustrated.

I know of somebody that has been emailing them for weeks asking them to return his passport. He then gets a letter in the post asking him to confirm his postal address for return of passport. Just think about the logic of that for a second.................have never expierienced such incompetance.
