Hi All,

My housemate got his cert this morning, he paid during month end of March.
Cert was printed on 14th May 2021.
Hi Mate

Congratulate your housemate from my side. It will be really helpful for all here if you can please share few more details:
When was the approval letter received :
When did he pay the fee:
When did he send the declaration of fidelity :

Many thnx
Hi ,

I'm so frustrated now, i don't think date stamp means anything now

When was the approval letter received: 15/03/21 for me - 18/03/21 for a mate
When did he pay the fee: I paid the same day online, post on 19/03/21 - 01/04/21 for a mate
Certificate: Still waiting -- my mate got it on Friday 21/05/21

Please , dont ask me any other questions regarding this.Thank you
Thanks buddy for sharing the info. I think the reason why people asked for dates was to figure out where are we in the queue as we all are waiting for so long now. But I understand your frustration as 'queue' is not based on who posted/paid first but some other criterion unknown to us.

Re the resubmission of the photo: Did they email or post you a letter asking you to resubmit? Did they say why you needed to send a new photo? And I assume you had to resubmit the photo on the digital portal?

I received a letter asking to submit photos taken within the last 6 months, the reason being that the photos i provided with online application were taken some while ago and they had them stored on my file (I didnt realise while submitting online) . New photographs were then submitted by post.

Hi Guys

Apologies for a very very stupid question. The subject of the thread says 'affidavits' and there are many post mentioning it. All I got was the 'Declaration of Fidelity to the Nation'. Is this 'Declaration' being referred as 'Affidavit' by some guys or am I missing something ?

I'm not clear on what the first and second email's are.

Is the 1st email, the one you get right after you submit your details online to acknowledge receipt of payment; and the 2nd email is to acknowledge that the fee has been processed?

Myself and another forum member here are waiting for a certificate since beginning of February.
It's been 18 weeks since my signed affidavit was delivered and no certificate yet. My solicitor sent the department two letters but both were just ignored. Same story with emails, no response. According to this thread there were multiple batches of certificates delivered since February.
To be honest I don't know what to do. I can't understand how come they can exceed their own deadlines over 3 times and just go silent when being asked on the status. This wait can be indefinite.

What's really disappointing is the poor quality of the communication the Department employed to engage with the applicants. They have no problem giving applicant the most generic and misleading updates about the applications or anything else, and at the same time warning that sending repeat emails is a bad thing, when it's actually the poor communication and lack of clarity and accuracy that is causing repeat inquiries. Delays and restrictions caused by COVID-19 are perfectly understandable but it's now turning into a versatile and never ending excuse to cover up for each and every of their failures. They say most applications are processed within 12 months, while some will take longer. But even looking on feedback on this forum, it is clear that most applications will be delayed, while some will be completed within the 12 months.

Maybe you can try FOI (Freedom of Info) . Not too sure though whether it can be used in this case.
