Does this apply to minor naturalisation as well now?
I have applied on behalf of my child since July 2018 as well. Just got an Email today replies that "Your child's application for naturalisation is currently being processed
This must be very frustrating for you and your family. Children's approvals should not have stopped due to COVID because children are not required to attend ceremonies.wec1979 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:32 pmI have applied on behalf of my child since July 2018 as well. the granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for

To be honest, I am very frustrating. I think that minor application should be approved in six months, because they don't need check so many things as same adult's.pluto1992 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 12:09 amThis must be very frustrating for you and your family. As children don't have GNIB card so you can apply on parent stamp.

Applied for my Son Form 9 (October 09 , 2019) as Irish Born and myself and his mom were bother naturalized citizen since 2017 relatively very easy case straight forward
Passport Returned with reference : after 2 weeks (don't remember the date but it was October)
February 2020: They needed GP Letter and School Letter (This was provided)
June 2020: They again asked for GP letter and school letter which was provided
October 2020: they asked for Latest School Letter
*** I was extremely frustrated as i was already in mental break down as single father with an autistic son ! working from home during lockdown***
I have sent them ALL THE SCHOOL LETTER , ALL THE HSE LETTERS, ALL THE GP LETTERS INCLUDING PRESCRIPTION, FULL AUTISM REPORT FROM HSE 50 PAGES LONG, ALL THE HSE COMMUNICATION AND THERAPHY LETTERS, MY JOB LETTERS AND AND AND wrote a huge letter telling them that i have given them ALLLLLL I HAVE (Almost 3.8 kg o weight ) they should understand my situation as looking after an autistic child in lockdowns , working from home very demanding job !! and requested them to process the application further
Since OCT 2020 i have not heard any thing nor i have contacted !! i had enough with these immigration and citizenship torture ,
I am frustrated because the way they have bothered me unnecessarily !! also when i travel i had lots of issues as i am holding Irish Passport and my son (EU passport from another country can't name that).aneelrahim wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 3:54 pmHi AliAli112 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 3:02 pmHello,

I understand your frustration but we have no option so we have to wait. I applied for my child a few months before you and you will find a lot of child application applied before you are still waiting...
Now I am hopefully as they are doing something to reduce the backlog

You and your wife are both Irish citizens and your kid is also Ireland born. Why do you need naturalization process for your kid? He is Irish born. Do I miss something ?
When you got approval what else they asked you to provide ?Sheh1984 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:29 amHi guys. I got both my minor kids naturalisation approval in first week of November 2020 I send them the required 200 euro each fees and other documents etc in order to receive naturalisation certificate. I haven't heard anything since. It normally takes 6 weeks but not sure May be taking to long due to covid?. I sent the fees draft etc through registered post. It says delivered in first week of Nov. Should I email them??. Thanks for the help

I still didn't understand why the delay for minors application. Minors don't require garda checks etc. They really need to up their game and hire more staffs. Applications for minor should even be the fastest to get a decision.

If I may ask how long did you had to wait for the approval?Sheh1984 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 10:29 amHi guys. well inform them that you are both got naturalization and i hope that may push the application a bit !! I mean these children applications are easy to deal with and honestly this bother many many families who are waiting for their kids !phoenix49 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 3:13 pmI have applied for my child's citizenship application back in summer, but I can tell it could take a very long time until my son gets the certificate. Now me & my wife are both Irish citizens and I was wondering if I need to update the status for my son? Should I apply for EU Treaty Rights or it is not necessary? I suppose with that card, it'd be easier to travel out and back since he won't need a reentry visa.
