Hello Guys,

I am on the same boat as you since Nov 2017 and not sure why applications on late 2018 got approvals and already invited into the coming ceremony while a lot of us in 2017 have never heard from them. Something dodgy something weird or there is some sort of discrimination that some people goes on top of others.. Not sure but to be honest, I am fed up with this. I understand the amount of applicants, brexit crap and they are too busy bla bla bla yeah I do understand but why 2018 applications got ahead of us !!!??? ok if there is some sort of documents that are needed from us or there is something blocking them from that at least let us know WHAT IS OUR PROBLEM maybe we can clarify!!!!

I decided not to contact a TD but will get my lawyer to send an official letter to state the reason behind the delay as they did not come back to me after sending them 2 letters and email without an answer..

I will update later if I get anything.

Thanks

My wife applied as a spouse Irish citizen in Jan 2017 and no reply so far. We fulfill every clause but not sure why its over two years and still there is no sign. We should all write to our TD's that no matter what there should be a decision within 6 months. The waiting is absolute pathetic...

Never received a second stage letter. A year ago we were told that my wife application is ready to be submitted to the minister and 6 months later we were asked for up to date bills and still no sign

On the basis of 5-year stay/work. I will be 8-year resident in Ireland in a few months' time.

I get reply from TD and its same copy paste template as shown below.

Dear Sir

Please note that in accordance with Data Protection requirements the information contained herein is to be shared with the applicant only and is not to be disclosed to any third party under any circumstances.

We refer to your email dated 23rd April 2019 on behalf of

Name: xxx
Person ID: xxx
Application ID: xxx

The above individuals lodged applications for a Certificate of Naturalisation with the Citizenship Division of this Department.

These applications are currently being processed with a view to establishing whether the applicant meets the statutory conditions for the granting of naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible

The granting of Irish citizenship through naturalisation is a privilege and an honour which confers certain rights and entitlements, not only within the State but also at European Union as well as international level. It is therefore important that appropriate procedures are in place to ensure that the integrity of the regime for granting Irish citizenship through the naturalisation process is held in high regard both at home and internationally.

It is recognised that all applicants for citizenship would wish to have a decision on their application without delay. However, the nature of the naturalisation process is such that for a broad range of reasons some cases will take longer than others to process. It is a statutory requirement that, among other things, applicants for naturalisation be of good character. In some instances that can be established relatively quickly and in other cases completing the necessary checks can take a considerable period of time. As a result there will always be a proportion of cases that take longer than the norm to process. It is not possible, therefore to provide you with a definite timeframe.

While every effort is made to process these applications within a reasonable time frame, processing times generally will vary having regard to the volume of applications, their complexity and the resources available.

We have forward your representations to the Citizenship Division.

you will be contacted, in writing, as soon as a decision has been reached.

We trust this is of assistance.

Hey guys,
Called again today, the lady told me the application is complete and it’s in the final stage now.
Since last week they’ve told me it’s been in the second stage I’ve triple confirmed with her it’s not now.
She said it’s either already submitted or about to be submitted to the minister.
So good news or should I keep being sceptical?
I’ve realised I should have asked her to send me this in writing but well.

I got exactly the same letter and I have applied since December 2017 and got acknowledgement letter 2nd January 2018. The last letter I got was February 2019 saying they dont need any further documents from me and that they will get in touch soon.
I have gone to my local TD for help. He has written them 3 times same response, "Some cases take longer than expected and that is still under processing". The 29th April 2019 ceremony has gone still looking for my letter.
I dont know what else to do on this issue.
Any suggestion from anyone?

I applied since December 2017 and got my first letter which is acknowledgement letter on the 2nd of January 2018. I have contacted them severally and got the letter that my application had proceeded to 2nd stage March 2018. Ever since, I have been contacting them and even went to one of our local TDs for assistance same response which is still under processing and some cases might take longer than required.
The last letter I got from them says they didn't any further documents from me and that they will get in touch soon that was dated February 2019. This is absolutely frustrating. I made my application since December 2017 and no final decision being made. The 29th of April 2019 ceremony is gone now looking for 30th September 2019 and December 9th. Is this how someone is going to continue waiting till eternity?
Please anyone with a suggestion on what next to do on this issue. I had to renew and paid 300 euro for GNIB so that I can travel.
Any suggestion is highly welcome.
Thanks

Guys, I am shaking. Just got home from work and the brown envelope was there. Posted yesterday, after 1 year and 5 months I finally got my approval. Best of luck to all of you and I guess my theory was right!!!
Sorry to bother you, recently someone ask me which team deals final approval letter? Is it team 1.
It is Team 1 indeed. You also need to send the bank draft to them too.
Congrats Anira. I am still waiting for final approval as well after 1 year and 5 months in the waiting. Very frustrating process. Anything else I can do on this issue? Any suggestion is highly welcome.

Hi, I know how frustrating the waiting is. My suggestion is to ask your TD to raise a Parliamentary Question with the Minister like this one: https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/qu ... 01-31/105/

This way you have an official answer of your current status.

I think our applications of 2017 timelime were processed that time for either to be batched to the ministry for approval or to be processed into second stage or to be looked at for something (I am assuming).

I have almost same timeline (Nov 2017), I applied and got my aknowledge in few days after then 2 weeks later got my passport and since then only one letter requested from me on March 2019 >> "They requested one document which is a copy of signature page of my passport" which I do not get why "I already submitted all of that from day one :D) but yeah. I provided them this back on March 2019 and since then nothing. !!!!

Every week I call them on Tuesday and Thursday and I get different response.

Sometime on Tuesday they said it is not submitted to minister yet and on Thursday same week they said it is already submitted to Minister and vice versa.

Today they told me it is not submitted and last Thursday they told me its already submitted. Is this happens to anyone else.

Today phone line is not too busy as I get the call after few minutes.

He called at 10.27am. You need to change your time zone setting for the forum.

It’s all luck though. They are always busy. Sometimes when you are lucky you will get through in a few minutes. Sometimes you just can’t get through after trying relentlessly for 2.5 hours.

Yes I call at 10:27am.

Littlerr is right I start calling at 10AM and normally get successful near 12 noon.

Today by mistake they pick my call earlier :D

my td sent an email to them and they've confirmed 'about to be submitted to the minister', so chilling with some hope. Any chance the approvals can come by July?
