My citz application is pending since july 2017.
Have sent many letters by myself and through solicitors but no response so far. The only response I received was in July last year a 10 weeks letter with the assurity that my file will be sent to the minister for decision. That 10 weeks time finished in September and since then there is no response. I sent 2 more legal letters afterwards but it seems they don’t care. Therefore JR seems to be the only way to wake them up. Can anyone advise if there’s any other alternative way?
Thanks

My plan with my solicitor it’s , we have sent a Pre-Litigation letter threatening them to get a decision before 18 of March , or otherwise we will go back to court and seek the cost of processing from the date of filling

I sent 3 x pre litigation letters so far.
2 x letters after the 10 weeks letter. And 1 x pre-lit letter was sent last week and to that they responded yesterday the same generic letter ...your application is in process....etc.
Have a meeting with my solicitor next week to look at going to the court.

If they compromised on your case they must give a decision within the time period they requested to have. They can’t mess with the Courts.

I got the letter in the post and not email. It was dated 11th March and got it the next day the 12th.
I wish you best of luck. I know what it is for someone to have waited for over 3 years.

Any update on the Naturalization applications.
Mine is pending since June 2017. Has anyone any idea what’s going on lately with the department

Guys

I would appreciate if anyone can give us some indication on fee of JR?
How much cost approx? if we win we still pay for it?
It was a mistake to wait for 4 years at this stage.

most people are paying 1,300 (however there are firms that quote 5k)

You can find people sharing quotes on this thread: ireland/foi-and-an-application-for-an-o ... 11264.html

Indeed, solicitor prices seems vary a lot (€1300 vs €6K).
As it is not allowed to share solicitor names etc. on this forum, can sb. suggest another platform where we can discuss our options? (Google search don't yield good results)

You can't discuss it publicly on the threads, but you can send people direct messages and ask them on these boards. The only trick is that you must have made at least 30 posts (quality posts, not just writing anything at random), and the person you're sending the message to must have the same status as well.

Google does yield good results, if you just search "dublin immigration solicitor", out of the top 3 rated firms one of them will quote you 1,300 for a JR. If you have been waiting past 2 years, I'd say get a lawyer to send warning letters on your behalf, to put pressure, as right now the department is trying hard to clear their backlog of people waiting 2+ years by end of June.

Also, read this thread in full as people have discussed this topic in depth, a lot more tips here: ireland/foi-and-an-application-for-an-o ... 11264.html

It seems Dept have started clearing up all pending applications for Naturalization, alot of people got their approvals lately, which is a good thing, however, my application is still pending and roughly it is 4 years now. Hoping to hear from a Dept soon.
Is there anyone else who hasn’t got the approval yet and applied in 2017 etc

Forgot to mention my solicitor sent a prelitigation letter last week with 7 days notice but so far there isn’t any response.
