I got my approval on Friday!!! It was emailed to my solicitor at 5 pm as a response to her inquiry a week before and they say the original letter has been posted to my address. I'll be invited to a ceremony but they didn't specify when.

Hope you guys hear good news soon!

Useful to look at the timeline only posts of members instead of asking for timelines to be posted in the general topics!

Application Based On 5+ years residency, Non-EU (Stamp 4)

Applied Date: 05/June/2020
Application received Date: 08/June/2020
Acknowledgement Date: 05/August/2020
Mail requesting further documentation: 16/October/2020
Second Letter: 11/June/2021 (dated 31st of May) - I assume it's the second letter as it's not requesting anything. It says "Your application is being processed with a view to establishing whether you meet the statutory conditions..."
Approval: Pending
Date of Ceremony: Pending
20/05/2022: warning letter sent by solicitor (giving them 12 weeks to make a decision)
26/05/2022: response to letter received (dated 23rd, the next working day). The letter said that I should fill in the enclosed E-Vetting form and once that's done I should get a decision within 12 weeks.
E-Vetting completed: 27/06/2022
Inquiry sent by solicitor: 26/08/2022
Approval: 02/09/2022 - sent as an email reply to my solicitor with the letter attached. It says I'll be invited to a ceremony but it didn't specify when.

I sent them the Garda vetting form 2 weeks ago. How long generally they take to process it and what will be the next step?

What does the vetting tracking suggest? Is the vetting completed and the disclosure is viewed?

Very difficult to answer that because it differs from person to person really. Mine took 2 months from the moment the result was read by the citizenship division while for other people it can take months before receiving the approval letter

If I were you I would do an FOI request to Garda for all the records they might have on you. It is pretty straightforward and they revert to you in less than one month.

if you're talking about FOI about Garda specifically - https://www.garda.ie/en/information-cen ... formation/
When making your FOI request, you should state that you are making your request under the FOI Act. Your request should also be as specific as possible to assist us in identifying the related records and, if possible, indicate a time-frame which applies to your request (e.g. all of 2015, January 2016 to July 2016). The FOI Act applies retrospectively to records created from 21st April, 2008 to date. The only exemption to this is where personal records are sought. Please also indicate whether you seek records for Human Resources, Finance, or Procurement.

You may find it useful to use the standard FOI Application form available in English.

Requests can be sent in writing to:

Freedom of Information Office,
An Garda Síochána,
Athlumney House,
IDA Business Park,
Johnstown,
Navan,
Co Meath, C15 ND62

Alternatively, requests can be submitted by email to : foi@garda.ie

Send an email to citizenshipinfo@justice.ie asking for the status of your application. I also waited 4 months after the evetting till I sent the email and 1 week later I got the approval. Also after paying I waited for 8 weeks for the payment to be processed after those 8 weeks I sent another email that day it was processed.
I feel sometimes emailing them works, we should not just wait because it seems they forget some archives.
Good luck!

Hi guys, can you please tell me what is the citizenship group number please?thanks
Hi Zaza,

Do you have to go to the December ceremony? Just asking to understand if they stopped sending the oath of fidelity form because my husband hasn't received his approval yet
I asked to pay 950 and they will schedule me in ceremony in december.have not asked me to sign any oath.
Thanks for your answer ZA2020. I guess that's the procedure from now on which I don't understand tbh. The form was a way to catch up with their huge backlog. Not to mention COVID cases are going up and the citizenship division are going to find themselves either forcing people to go to a ceremony where they can catch COVID or doubling their workload by sending the oaths of fidelity forms later on because they need to cancel the ceremonies. Sorry about the rant guys!
I got the oath which was sent to me on the 16th of July together with the approval letter and the payment request.
I haven't got the certificate though :(

Hi Miranda,

That's amazing that both emails you sent worked because it doesn't seem to be the case generally. You got the magic touch! :) Could you share with us what you told them? Very happy you finally got your approval, congrats!

Below is the repeatable email reply from INIS Dept I have been getting this for 4 years rolling. I did my vetting in Jun 2021 and Jan 2022. I have been working full time. Does anyone have any idea this is frustrating and unfair.

Dear ???

Thank you for your email. Your application for naturalisation continues to be processed. If further documentation and/or clarification of any matter related to your application is required from you, we will contact you requesting it. While it is not possible to give an exact timeframe, this office will be in touch as soon as a decision has been reached.

Kind regards
