With the validity of irp. At the time of application i gave them an expired gnib but that expired card was still valid for a few months as the minister announced automatic extension.

But yes we have to update the department with a valid irp card as i did. If you will not update than they will request for an up to date residency card.

So your solicitor may be right but they do request a valid irp, i would suggest you do the same.

But i haven't received any acknowledgement after sending an irp. Solicitor said that your application continues to be processed.
This was the answer I got from my solicitor:

They will ask for your latest and valid IRP card during last stage of your approval, so there is no need to send it at this point.

(I stated I have 5 years valid IRP card but still got this answer, so I will trust on my solicitor on this one).

If you have checked the timeline post, you might find that one very recent E-Vetting reuest has been there. Unfortunately this summer seemed very quiet. Hopefully they have started issuing new e-vetting requests and approvals. Best Luck!!

You can follow the updates from here: ireland/2021-citizenship-applications-t ... 8-325.html

Can you also mention what is your application based on? If it's Eu/Non-EU/Marriage with Irish citizen etc.? Just to get a rough idea.

Hey, I came across this forum with application time and some insights. Apparently the processing time has come down to 19 months at some point in 2022.

https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/debates/qu ... 05-17/601/

Not sure if this helps anyone but it is nice to see some numbers.

Yeah, right now it’s around 18 months based on the application timeline. But keep in mind, this doesn’t mean it will be like that for all applications. For example there are applications from 2020 that is still being approved.

Just got eVetting paper form and filled it and sent back. Interesting thing is, the letter from Justice Department was dated from 9th of October, which means they work even on Sunday. I wasn’t expecting anyone to sign some papers on Sunday. Looks like they are working everyday now.

hey, quick question regarding the timelines. I noticed many people around me who applied after my application (July 2021) started to get their e-vetting requests last month and this month, however I don't have any updates. Would you suggest anything else rather than just waiting (finding a solicitor etc.)

We are the same, applied in September 2022. Passport received in Nov 22. Acknowledgement and receipt received first few days of June (actually the day before we went on holiday) and was dated 25th of May. Nothing since then, but I've seen on the timeline people who applied in October/November have already received E Vetting.
Husbands application is Non EU (US) but based on Irish Spouse Stamp 4 (so CMU 1) and had lived 5 years at time of application. Should be straightforward enough...no gaps no changes, we have both worked for the same employers the entire time, only lived at 2 addresses as we lived in my family home then bought a house and moved to it and don't have anything like speeding parking tickets etc.
Strange that he hasn't received his but people who applied after have (both EU and non EU).

I have a theory that applications based on spouse of Irish citizens are not prioritised. And that (all?) other applications are prioritised.

I would have thought that they were prioritised since they let them away with 3 years residence instead of the standard and also because they have a family reason for needing citizenship. I have absolutely no basis for that and you absolutely could be right. Its actually probably a lot easier for us to renew the stamp than others they literally ask us nothing and charge us nothing so could be right.

depends what you mean by prioritizing; I thought they're treated differently to nonEU applications (since CMU1), which were always a bit before CMU2, but no difference between EU and SOIN.

You are not the only one.

I applied in April 2021 and no vetting yet.

EVetting now takes between 9 and 10 working days minimum, confirmed by National Vetting Bureau recently (phone)

What happens next after eVetting disclosure? Should I wait like email or letter with details? I mean I don't mind about waiting or additional requests, I am asking what happens generally like, what kind of communication way should I expect at any : email over mail?or something else?

One of the options below:

1-) Asking for more documents (can be any document)
2-) Total silence for short time then getting approval
3-) Total silence for long time then getting approval
4-) Total silence and waiting up to 23 months or more.

I still see people from 2020 applicants that got eVetting requests recently (as in October 2022). So the whole thing is a mystery.

Thanks, I understand all of that, just curious which way I should expect, the post not ideal to have, but passed my eVetting already and curious about the way to expect from Citizenship Division. If email it will be much better over the general post

As far as I know, you will get post in any case, they don't get in touch with email apart from answering questions. So whatever they say it will be with post. Passing eVetting doesn't really mean anything. If you pass your eVetting but if your application has no progress for next 6 months (or longer) they might ask for new eVetting.

So till you hear from them (via post) nothing is certain and doesn't really mean anything. Best case scenario you get a letter asking for payment as your application is approved, or asking for more documents etc. etc.

Edit: IF you want you can do a FOI request and see what is the progress of your application also.

Hi guys, hopefully someone can advice.
I applied in april 2021, no vetting received yet.

But now i have been served with an eviction notice and the owner requires the possession of the property within 28 days. What happens to my application? I dont even have a place where to go?
I assume correspondence will be sent to the same address. Can i write to the department to send the letters to the solicitor instead of my address ?
Please advice.
Thankyou
