Cool. I am non-EU but had the EU team send letter. CMU is EU/UK.

Almost two years to get e-vetting? Doesn't sound particularly "fast tracked" to me!

Guys it looks like they are fast tracking 2021 applicants now.

I can share timeline

Application submitted April 2021
Acknowledgement received May 2021
Garda vetting letter invitation January 2023
E vetting email received today February 2023

Hopefully they send an approval before the ceremony
I meant fast tracking 2021 applicants for the upcoming ceremony.

File was sitting gathering dust almost 2 years and all of a sudden i started getting responses from the department.

The last correspondence states it will take 12 weeks to complete background checks not sure if thats true and i get an approval in the next few weeks.

But i am very positive this time now.

how do you know they are fast tracking 21 applicants vs you just being next up in the random order they seem to go?

Thanks. Was it CMU 1 or 2?
Does timeline changes if it's CMU1 OR CMU2?

I've read before that "CMU1 deals with people who do not need an IRP card (and spouse of Irish citizens for expedited processing), and CMU2 deals with people who need an IRP card."

but from assessment, spousal applications are taking way longer than the 5yr non-eu (even though my wife ALSO satisfied the 5yr requirements).

With the latest version of Form 11, there is no separate CMU1 and CMU2 left anymore. All applications are sent to same address as CMU.

That is incorrect. There are still CMU 1 and 2, it's just that they both work on EU/non-EU applications.

If they both work on Eu and non-Eu applications it means there is no separation for CMU anymore. How come that's incorrect?

It's incorrect because they are still separate units. They still exist.

Units still exist. Each unit handles a different part of these applications. The only difference is that they have stopped asking people to send new applications to a particular unit, because there is absolutely no point. There is an initial processing team that will do the initial scan and pre-checks, and save the application against the correct category.

If they need additional documents from an applicant, it will still need to be returned to a specific unit.

That is correct. You will see application completed and disclosed to registered organisation. Which means eVetting is done. And also "disclosure viewed" (or something similar) which means ISD downloaded your eVetting. You won't see your own eVetting result but after this stage it's just waiting. It might take days or weeks or months to get approval. But usually this is the last step before the approval.

This process took around 10 days for me, not sure what's the current duration nowadays.

Edit: Everytime there is a progress you will get an email about it. So either you can check your emails regularly or use the tracking code with the link. Apart from waiting there is nothing else you can do.

Not really but I guess they will send it like a month before the ceremony date.

Guys asking this on behalf of someone who applied in 2021.

Visa is expiring on 19th june, the irp card will have to be valid till the ceremony or even after ?

Say if he does get an approval letter will he be required to submit the current irp or renewed irp ?

Thankyou
When you are due to pay €950 fee upon approval, the person is asked to upload their passport's biometric page and IRP scan. If IRP of the person is not valid till their invitation date then that person will get a mail asking to extend their IRP and send them back proof. There was few posts on this board I guess, people asking if it would be OK to send IRP renewal confirmation email (or receipt) to prove extension because it takes time for IRP card to arrive and you need to reply in 28 days to that mail.

If that person is invited to ceremony on 19th of June, it will be fine. But if they get invited to 20th of June their IRP will be expired so they might ask for updated IRP card or maybe not. You can either wait and see or apply for IRP renewal in upcoming days (I think nowadays you can apply 120 days before the IRP expire date). The difference will be, you will be losing 300 euro but having piece of mind.

Theres an additional unannounced 10th march ceremony.

The socond one is in June.

Hopefully 2021 cases will be done and dusted this year.

My e vetting disclosure was done this morning, i hope the minister does not put the file away and give me an approval before the ceremony.

Well at the moment it's not official I guess as it's not announced anywhere. Not on ISD's website at least. So for now next ceremony is at June 2023 officially.
