De Facto Preclearance Application

Post by Danielmonty » Tue Jul 07, 2020 12:16 pm

Hello, has anyone done the non-eea de facto preclearance in the past 3 months? I’d like to hear how it went. I’ve reached out to the Department of Justice and they are accepting applications, however I’d like to know how long the process took.

Thank you,
An anxious Irishman stuck in Indonesia with his partner eager to get home to the Emerald Isle.

I applied for my partner's permission whilst in Ireland (before the preclearance scheme started). It took almost 12 months if I remember correctly.

I doubt if the processing time is going to be drastically shorter now (especially with a shortage of staff due to social distancing requirement).
